Paid plans add higher limits, longer history, cloud sync, and more devices. An account is optional for core local workflows. Sign-in may be requested after 15 completed operational documents and is required for cloud features. Product data suggestions use Open Food Facts data (ODbL). Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; manage them in your Apple ID settings.
