PhotoHoarder
Swipe your camera roll clean
Only for iPhone
$2.99 · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
iPhone
Your camera roll has thousands of photos in it and you have opened it, felt tired, and closed it again.
PhotoHoarder gives you one photo at a time and one decision to make. Swipe right to keep it. Swipe left to line it up for deletion. Swipe up to heart it. That is the whole app.
NOTHING IS DELETED BY A SWIPE
Swiping left does not delete anything. It adds the photo to a queue that you review as a grid, where you can pull anything back out. Only when you tap Delete does anything leave your library, and iOS asks you to confirm even then.
If you swipe wrong, a Rewind button appears for a few seconds and takes it back.
WHAT YOU CAN SWEEP
- Everything, or just photos, or just videos
- Loved Photos and Loved Videos, when you want to revisit what you hearted
- On This Day, showing what you took on today's date in past years
Favorites stay out of the main deck by default, because hearting something is already a decision to keep it.
FIND THE DUPLICATES
Bursts and near-identical shots get grouped together, with one suggested keeper and a plain reason why it won. Keep that one, queue the rest, move on. The matching runs on your device using Apple's Vision framework. Nothing is uploaded.
VIDEOS TOO
Videos play in the deck with sound, so you can judge them without leaving. Hold the top corners to scrub forward or back.
ABOUT FREEING SPACE
Deleting moves photos to Recently Deleted, which is Apple's 30 day safety net. Your storage does not actually drop until that album is emptied, and only the Photos app can empty it. PhotoHoarder shows you exactly how, every time. It is two taps, and it is the step most people miss.
PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION
PhotoHoarder has no networking code in it at all. No accounts, no sign in, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. Your photos never leave your phone because there is nothing in the app that could send them.
One purchase. No subscription.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Built for a phone that is already full.
- Photos load sharper. Several fixes to how images are requested, including asking for the full resolution your screen actually has.
- New chips show whether an item is on your phone or only in iCloud, so you always know what you are looking at.
- When storage is tight, the deck now leads with the biggest items and with what is already downloaded, so the swipes that free the most space come first.
- Videos no longer flicker, and a video that cannot play says why instead of retrying.
- Select individual items in the delete queue to restore or delete just those.
- A failed deletion now tells you what went wrong instead of quietly doing nothing.
