Wingbeat calculates the exact shutter speed for the bird in front of you — its real wingbeat, your real gear, not a rule of thumb. Pick the bird (or its size class), pick what it's doing — takeoff, gliding, flight, dive — and Wingbeat reads out the speed that freezes it. Flip to the Technique panel to match how you actually shoot: panning or static, handheld or tripod, freeze the wings or just the body, side-on or head-on, and how large the bird sits in your frame. WHY IT'S DIFFERENT Most advice hands you rules of thumb: "1/2000 for birds in flight." But motion blur is physics — wingtip speed, focal length, pixel pitch, and how strict you are about sharpness.
