Talk to the AI agent on your own Mac or server — see every command it runs, and get a notification when a long job finishes. Kite connects your phone to AI that runs where you want it to. TWO WAYS TO USE IT Your own agent. If you run Hermes — the open-source agent from Nous Research — on your Mac or a server, Kite brings it to your phone. It keeps its memory, its tools and access to your files, and Kite shows every step as it happens. Or a model directly. Point Kite at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint with your own key: OpenRouter, Nous Portal, Groq, Together, or a model running on your own computer through Ollama or LM Studio. Free models are badged so you know before you send. SEE WHAT IT ACTUALLY DID Most chat apps show you an answer. Kite shows the work: searching, reading, running commands — each step appears as it happens, and tapping one reveals the exact command that ran. When you reopen the conversation a week later, it is still there. WHILE YOU GET ON WITH SOMETHING ELSE Hand over a long job and put your phone away. A live view on the Lock Screen shows it working, and a notification arrives when it finishes. TYPE OR TALK Tap the microphone to dictate a message, or start a hands-free conversation: Kite listens, sends what you say, reads the answer aloud and listens again. Speech is turned into text on your iPhone. For a language the iPhone cannot recognise by itself, you can allow Apple's servers in Settings. SEND IT ANYTHING Share a link, a document or a photo straight from any app. PDFs are read on your phone — including scanned ones — so even a model with no tools can work with a file you just received. Photos need a model that can see images. ASK WITHOUT OPENING IT Say "Ask Kite" and put your question to Siri, or use "Send to Kite" for a long job and get a notification when it lands. Both work from Shortcuts, an automation, or the Action button. MORE THAN ONE MACHINE Keep a Mac at home and a server that never sleeps. Kite remembers both, each with its own model, and switches with a tap. Adding a machine with no screen takes no code and no terminal — type its name on your private network and it hands the phone what it needs. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS There is no account, no sign-up and no server of ours in the path. Your conversations go between your phone and either your own computer or the provider you chose. We receive nothing except a notification token, so a finished task can reach your phone — and notifications carry no message content. FREE TO TRY Kite is free to download and works fully for 14 days. After that, a single purchase unlocks it for good on every device signed in to your Apple ID. No subscription, no account. WHAT YOU NEED For a model: an endpoint and your own API key. Some run with no key at all. For an agent: Hermes installed on your own Mac or server, plus Kite Helper, so your phone never holds the agent's key.
