BirdTalk is a private companion app for pet birds and the people who care for them.
It does not pretend to translate bird calls into definite human sentences. Instead, BirdTalk considers loudness, rhythm, frequency, and repetition to suggest broad states such as contact calling, seeking attention, activity, unease, or alarm. Every result includes evidence strength, the supporting signals, and another possibility.
With BirdTalk, you can:
• Listen for bird calls in real time and observe changes in sound
• Import an existing recording through the same on-device analysis path
• Keep a bird profile, journal, context notes, and your own feedback
• Record 3–5 phrases in your voice for being away, unease, bedtime, and contact calls
• Let a Mac provide occasional automatic comfort within strict limits for volume, cooldown, daily count, and quiet hours
Privacy starts by default:
• No account required
• No ads or tracking
• V1 does not connect to a cloud server
• Recordings, profiles, and journals stay on your device by default
• Delete all local data from inside the app at any time
iPhone is designed for interaction while you are present. Mac can serve as a companion station at home. Automatic comfort works only while the app remains open and listening.
Important: BirdTalk presents sound-supported behavioral-state hypotheses. It is not a word-for-word bird-language translator and does not provide medical diagnoses. If your bird shows persistent panting, cage-thrashing, unusual lethargy, or another physical abnormality, stop audio interaction and contact an avian veterinarian.
