Walk on tiles without touching the tile edges, cracks or obstacles. Walk, run and sprint for as long as you can, escape from stray dogs and help your childhood friend Hatch. However, you are only allowed to step on tiles, and every footprint must be pixel perfect. Walking on Tiles is an endless runner set in an overgrown urban Japan. The core gameplay loop has the player run after Hatch, their dog, to bring him home. The player must do so while following the rules of a children's game, stepping on tiles without touching the tile edges, tile cracks and a variety of obstacles. The player must also occasionally face stray dogs and run away from them. A touching story unfolds between the player and Hatch as they progress together deeper into the city.
