The beef is fine. The gravy is fine. The potatoes have been going cold since twenty past, because nothing in the kitchen agreed on a finishing time. bit.timer starts from the only time that matters: when you want to eat. Tell it what you are cooking and how long each thing takes, and it works backwards to when everything needs to go on. Then it gets out of the way and tells you what is next. -- How it works -- Add your dishes with their cook times. The longest one sets the pace and everything else is staggered behind it, so you get one countdown to the moment that actually matters: when you sit down to eat. When something needs to go in, its bar flashes and your phone buzzes. Tap the bar once it is genuinely in the oven, and the plan follows the cooking rather than the other way round. Late with the potatoes? Tap them in whenever they go in and everything else shifts to match. Nothing to restart, no sums to redo. -- What you get -- Work backwards from one serve time, instead of forwards from four separate timers. Start alerts, so you can leave the kitchen without keeping half an eye on the phone. A worktop display: big type, stripped back, readable from across the room, in portrait or landscape. Eight display themes, because a timer you look at forty times in an afternoon may as well look good. Choose from: Sunset, Phosphor, Amber CRT, Handheld, Home Micro, Rubber Keys, Vaporwave and Teletext, the CRT ones with scanlines. Saved meals, so next Sunday takes one tap instead of five minutes of typing. Properly offline. No account, no sign-in, no network needed. Your dishes stay on your phone. -- bit.timer Pro -- The app is free and shows a small ad in the dish list. One optional in-app purchase removes the ads, gives you unlimited saved meals and hands the space back to your dishes. It is a single payment, not a subscription, and it does not expire.
