WinPane is a native macOS window manager for fast, repeatable layouts with less pointer effort. Capture the windows already on your desktop, turn them into a reusable layout, and arrange them again from the menu bar or a global keyboard shortcut. An optional menu bar folding tool also keeps rarely used icons out of the way until you need them.
TIDY YOUR DESKTOP
Save the current display as a custom layout instead of rebuilding it by hand. WinPane records each eligible window's position and size, binds its app to the matching slot, and supports multiple windows from the same app.
Choose Tidy Current Desktop to capture the visible app windows, update the layout preview, and arrange them with minimal overlap. The result remains editable and reusable.
APP-AWARE WINDOW LAYOUTS

Choose exactly where Finder, Xcode, your browser, chat app, or another installed app should appear.
• Decide what happens when an app is missing
Keep its slot empty or automatically fill it with another available window.
• Use ready-made tiling templates
Start with 2 × 2 Grid, Side by Side, Master Detail, Top and Bottom, or Three Columns for quick split-screen organization.
• Create custom layouts
Build up to 16 window slots, resize them visually, swap their positions, and reuse the result whenever you need it.
SMARTER WINDOW FIT
WinPane includes minimum-size knowledge for common Mac apps and keeps refining locally learned values as layouts are applied. Learn Current Desktop can measure the apps already open on your display, then restore their original positions and sizes. These limits help previews and applied layouts avoid impossible window sizes.
MENU BAR FOLDING
Turn on Menu Bar Folding to add a divider and an arrow that always remains visible. Hold Command to place rarely used icons to the left of the divider, then click the arrow to fold or restore that section. Right-click the arrow at any time to restore all icons or turn the feature off. No extra permission is required.
SHORTCUT CONTROL
Assign a global hotkey to any layout for pointer-free window arrangement. Enable shortcuts per layout, turn them all on or off with one control, and catch conflicts before they interrupt your workflow.
APPLE SHORTCUTS WINDOW BRIDGE
Window discovery and movement run through an Apple Shortcut that you install and control. The first time it is needed, WinPane opens the bundled shortcut for you to add. You can regenerate it from Settings if it is removed. WinPane itself does not request cross-app Accessibility access.
BUILT FOR REAL MAC WORKFLOWS
WinPane keeps windows within the visible workspace. On multiple displays, it uses the screen under the pointer while avoiding the menu bar and Dock. Adjustable spacing keeps tiled windows easy to distinguish.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Window discovery, layout calculations, and movement happen on your Mac. WinPane has no accounts, ads, analytics, telemetry, or behavior tracking, and it never uploads window content. Layouts, shortcuts, learned app limits, and display preferences remain in local system preferences.
