Vocabulary and conjugation in the language you are learning: five-minute quizzes, every word spoken aloud, and challenges with friends. Free, with no ads.
Voc'iz is an app for learning and revising the vocabulary and conjugation of a foreign language: French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian or German. Pick one or more languages, then work through quizzes: translation exercises for vocabulary, conjugation exercises for verbs. Play them alone to practise, or challenge your friends, one on one or in groups of up to 20 people.
Every quiz adapts to your level: four options to pick from to get started, the answer to type yourself for a real workout, or any setting in between. And if you are learning several languages, one quiz can mix them.
A vocabulary quiz is 10 to 15 words and takes about five minutes.
VOCABULARY
• Over 7,000 words per language, across 36 themes: food, travel, work, health, technology, nature, law, science…
• Every word has a translated example sentence and its own audio recording
• Three difficulty levels, from beginner to genuinely hard
• Work in both directions: from your language, into it, or both
• In write mode, synonyms, plurals and feminine forms are accepted
• What you miss comes back, and the app serves what you know least first
• An exam to prepare for? Build up to three lists of 200 words and practise only those
CONJUGATION
• About a hundred verbs per language, across eight to ten tenses
• Choose the tenses, then the verbs: all of them, only the irregular ones, only the regular ones, or a single group
• A card gives you a pronoun and an infinitive: pick the right form, or type it
• Every form has its own example sentence, in that person and tense, and its own audio recording
LEARN
• The Learn tab shows the whole vocabulary as a grid, up to three languages side by side: the fastest way to stop confusing them
• Mark a word as already known, and it stops coming up in quizzes
• Every conjugation table is there too, with a verb search. Tap a form to hear it and read its example sentence
COMMON TO BOTH
• A level from 0 to 5 for every word, and for every verb in every tense, in each language you study
• Challenge a friend or a whole group: the same cards for everyone, each plays on their own, then you compare scores and times, card by card
• In a group of up to 20 people, points add up from one challenge to the next
• Titles and badges to collect, language by language, and the title of your choice shown next to your name
FREE, AND QUIET
No advertising. No subscription. No purchase. No trackers and no analytics SDK, only crash reports to fix bugs, stored in the EU. You can delete your account, permanently, from inside the app.
