Write in ordinary Markdown files with contextual suggestions and focused rewrites that stay out of the way. Keats is a focused Markdown editor for writers who want useful AI assistance without moving their work into a chatbox. Write in ordinary local .md files. Contextual suggestions appear quietly at the cursor and can be accepted a word or a passage at a time. Select writing and use Improve for a focused rewrite, with your own standing instructions when tone or detail matters. Keats includes: • A simple, fast Markdown editor with Edit and Preview modes • Context-aware inline suggestions • Focused rewrites for selected text • Optional context from other Markdown files in the folder • Light and dark themes • Word, character and language information • Recent files and secure restoration of permitted folders The Mac App Store edition is free and uses your own AI provider account. AI remains off until you give permission. When enabled, the relevant writing is sent directly to the provider you select; Keats does not store it. Folder context is separately controlled and is off by default. The editor works without an account or subscription. AI features require a compatible provider API key and may incur charges from that provider.
