A charger can break quietly. A worn plug piece, a loose wall socket, a tired
cable: power comes and goes for days while the battery icon never says a word.
Broken Charger exists because its developer once used a broken charger for
days without noticing.
It sits in your menu bar and watches how reliably your Mac charges.
WHAT IT SHOWS
* The connected charger and the power it really delivers, live in the menu bar
* How much power your Mac is drawing while on battery
* Low Power Mode, hot-battery pauses, and slow-charger warnings
* A simple health word for every charger you use
WHAT IT DOES WHEN SOMETHING LOOKS WRONG
* It first asks one plain question, so a normal unplug is never called a fault
* Then it walks you through finding the guilty part: wall socket, plug piece,
cable, or charger, changing one thing at a time
* It watches after each change and tells you honestly whether the problem
stopped or stayed
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
* With your one-time permission it reads your Mac's own power diary, so it can
judge the past two weeks on day one instead of starting blind
* It remembers each of your chargers by name
* It speaks plain language
WHAT IT NEVER DOES
* No subscription, no account. Pay once, own it.
* No data collection. Nothing leaves your Mac; the app contains no network
code at all.
REQUIREMENTS
* A Mac with a built-in battery, which means any MacBook. On an iMac,
Mac mini, Mac Studio or Mac Pro there is no battery to watch, and the app
tells you so instead of pretending to work.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
- The menu bar icon only turns orange for something happening right now: a hot battery, a charger that can't keep up, or a test waiting for you. A note like "your battery is aging" now shows as a small dot on the icon instead of colouring it.
- A hot battery is flagged even when no charger is connected.
- Get Help works when your email opens in a web browser, such as Gmail in Chrome: the diagnostics are saved as one file in your Downloads folder and the app tells you how to attach it.
- The status text in the menu and in the window always matches the icon's colour.
