Burnish is ASMR you create with your hands.
Every sound is generated the moment you touch the screen — sample by sample, in real
time, responding to where your finger is and how fast it moves. Nothing is a loop.
Nothing ever wears out.
EIGHT THINGS TO TOUCH
Glass — tap a cluster of lit orbs, or trail a finger across them. Every note is in tune,
so nothing you play can sound wrong.
Foil — drag, and the crackle follows your speed. Slower is louder here, not quieter.
Bubbles — tap the drifting ones, or press and hold to grow your own. The longer you
hold, the lower it pops.
Brush — soft, continuous, almost pure friction. The gentlest thing here.
Sand — dry, dark and dense, and it keeps the groove you dragged.
Zipper — one click per tooth. Pull slowly for separate ticks, quickly for a zip.
Wrap — pop them one at a time or in a sweep, until the sheet is spent.
Planets — cut one open, along any path you like. Earth opens to kiwi, Jupiter to citrus,
the Moon and Sun to crystal.
FIVE THINGS THAT RUN
Guided session — small prompts over the real triggers. Each step ends because you
finished it, not because a timer ran out.
Ear to ear — lie still while a sound crosses slowly from one side of your head to the
other. Headphones required.
Trace the light — keep a finger near a drifting light. Slowness keeps the sound close.
Breathe — one orb, through a 4-7-8 rhythm.
Soundscape — set a density and let glass, foil and bubbles play themselves.
WHAT YOU DO STAYS DONE
Glass cracks as you tap it, and eventually gives way. Sand keeps the furrow. Foil holds
a burnish where you worked it. Everything settles back on its own after a while —
nothing is permanent, and there is no clear button anywhere.
IT DOESN'T SOUND THE SAME TWICE
A key, a scale and a handful of texture offsets are worked out from the date, so today
doesn't sound like yesterday. Nothing is asked of you, and nothing is remembered.
NO ACCOUNTS. NO ADS. NO INTERNET.
Burnish collects nothing about you. There is no sign-in, no subscription, no analytics
and no tracking, and it makes no network requests at all — it works exactly the same in
airplane mode. One purchase, and that is the end of it.
Best with headphones. Several parts of Burnish place sound in space rather than simply
playing it, and a phone speaker cannot reproduce that.
