Cavernum: Number Puzzle
Matching Brain Game
Free · In‑App Purchases
Think ahead, dig deeper, and master every move. Cavernum turns simple number matching into a puzzle of strategy, tools, and satisfying chain reactions.
Cavernum is a number-pairing puzzle game for casual puzzle players of all ages. It does not require an account or sign-in.
Descend into the Cavern of Numbers.
Match two tiles that are equal, or that add up to ten, and clear a path through the stone. Simple to learn. Not always simple to solve.
Each level is a cave with its own shape and its own problem. Clear tiles and the grid compresses, closing gaps and opening connections you couldn't see a move ago. Paths wrap around edges. Diagonals count. The board you start with is never quite the board you end up solving.
The caves go deeper, and they don't stay simple. Void tiles open in the floor. Rock blockers wall off the routes you wanted. Gates and chests wait further down, past the point where guessing stops working.
Four tools help when you're stuck: Hint, Undo, Swap, and Add Numbers. Use them well. Swap only works once per level, and there's no second chance at it.
No account. No sign-in. Play anywhere, though ads need a connection.
Cavernum is a puzzle you can pick up in a minute and think about for a lot longer.
**What changed in Cavernum**
Level 3 now introduces itself properly.
Players were getting stuck there — and not because the level is hard. Level 3 is the
first place where reaching for Swap or Add # actually helps, and nothing in the game said
so. So a player who needed one read it as their own failure rather than as the level
doing its job.
There's now a short intro the first time you land there. It points at the two tools,
explains what Add # actually does — it takes every number on the board, in order, and
lays them down again after the last tile — and tells you the game has left extra hints
on that level. Hints are free against your move count, incidentally. Looking isn't
digging.
The level itself is unchanged. Same board, same solutions, same everything. Only the
explanation is new.
**And the fixes**
Finishing the final level used to crash the game. It now tells you more levels are on the
way, which is true.
A handful of smaller ones: numbers no longer snap back after an ad, the level's music no
longer keeps playing over the next level or under an ad (it used to loop until you
relaunched), swapping tiles no longer leaves the board half-finished, a failed purchase
now says so instead of claiming success, and "NEW RECORD" no longer appears when the
score couldn't actually be saved.
