Watch videos with your friends and stay properly in sync. SyncUp keeps everyone on the same part of the video, with voice chat, text chat, reactions, and a shared playlist built in. Create a room, send your friends the code, and you can start watching together in seconds. They don't need an account to join. WATCH TOGETHER SyncUp automatically keeps playback synchronized for everyone in the room. If someone falls behind or gets ahead, it corrects itself. You can watch: • YouTube videos, livestreams, and premieres • Twitch streams, VODs, and clips • Kick streams • Direct video links such as MP4 and M3U8 • Videos from many other supported websites • Video files stored on your phone If you share a video from your phone, it streams directly from your device to the room over a peer-to-peer connection. The file isn't uploaded to a SyncUp server. TALK WHILE YOU WATCH Voice chat is built in, so you don't need to have another app running in the background. • Voice chat while the video is playing • Text chat with emoji and GIFs • Reactions that appear over the video • Separate volume controls for each person • Mute controls for hosts ROOMS AND PLAYLISTS Rooms have host, moderator, and viewer roles, and you can choose what each role is allowed to do. There's also a shared playlist that everyone can use. • Vote on videos • Drag videos to reorder the queue • Import YouTube playlists • See what the room has already watched • Requeue something from the watch history • Upload SRT or VTT subtitle files • Use subtitle tracks found in supported videos FRIENDS You can add people by username or friend code and keep in touch outside of rooms. • See when friends are online • See what room they're in if they choose to make that visible • Send direct messages • Get an optional notification when a friend starts watching something BLOCKING AND MODERATION If someone is causing problems, you don't have to keep dealing with them. Blocking someone stops chat messages, direct messages, friend requests, and voice between both of you. You can also report a user or an individual message. Reports are reviewed by me directly. Room hosts can kick people, mute them, and change room permissions when needed. SYNCUP+ SyncUp+ is an optional upgrade for people who want larger rooms and a few extra features. It includes: • Rooms with up to 50 people • Unlimited voice chat • GIFs in chat • Password-protected rooms • Custom room branding • Room analytics Your current SyncUp+ plan is shown inside the app. A FEW THINGS WORTH KNOWING SyncUp keeps playback synchronized, but it doesn't provide the videos themselves. Everyone in the room still needs their own access to whatever you're watching. Some streaming services use DRM and require the SyncUp browser extension.
