New: gadwall, wigeon and green-winged teal. Six species scored in all 90 regions, and three southern states no longer open on a mallard forecast. DuckCast reads the weather that moves ducks, then checks it against the radar. Ninety hunting regions across ten states, each scored 0 to 10 for mallards, pintails, gadwall, wigeon, green-winged teal, and snow geese. Nine each in North Dakota, Arkansas, Missouri, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas, from the Souris basin down to the Texas coast. Every score shows its work. RADAR CHECK The forecast predicts. Radar measures the birds. DuckCast decodes raw NEXRAD Level II radar volumes and reads what was actually in the air over your region after sunset last night. It measures how much bird mass lifted off, which way it tracked, and how fast it flew under its own power once the wind aloft is removed. Bugs drift with the wind. Birds fly through it. That difference is how the app tells them apart. Thirty-five radar sites cover them, from Minot down to Corpus Christi. One limit, stated plainly: radar sees every bird in the air, not just ducks. Read it as proof that a migration happened, not as a duck count. THE SCORE, AND WHY Eight factors, each visible and arguing for or against: Cold front and temperature trend Wind direction and speed Freeze north of you Snow advance upstream Local open water and holding Season timing Crop harvest and field feed What other hunters are reporting You can disagree with the number because you can see how it was built. Every region opens to a full breakdown and a 14 day outlook. UPSTREAM WATCH Ducks arrive from somewhere. DuckCast watches the ground they are leaving. Southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba above North Dakota. The mid-Mississippi valley above Arkansas. Iowa and Illinois above Missouri. Arkansas and west Tennessee above Mississippi. For South Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas, the state directly north, which DuckCast already scores. Fifty-six upstream stations in all. When shallow water starts locking up north of you, you see it before the birds show up. TOMORROW'S HUNT Legal light, sunrise, sunset, moon phase, hour by hour wind and temperature, and a decoy score that tells you whether the sky will work your spread or blow it out. LIVE MIGRATION MAP Every state drawn from real county boundaries, colored by score, with an animated tracer running the real forecast wind field. Tap any region to open. An All States map puts the whole network on one screen, freeze line included. TRIP PLANNER Pick a window, pick your species, get a day by day outlook and the strongest stretch inside it. HUNT LOG Log what you shot and where. DuckCast finds your pattern over the season. HUNTER REPORTS Region-level reports from other hunters, feeding into the score. DuckCast never asks for your spot and never stores coordinates. Your honey hole is nobody's business. WATCH YOUR REGIONS Save the regions you hunt and DuckCast watches them. HOME SCREEN WIDGET The top regions and their scores, without opening the app. SHARE CARDS Send a region's score to your hunting party as an image. BUILT FOR 4:30 AM Three display modes. Field is the standard dark look. Blind turns the app amber on black, so a look in the dark does not cost your night vision. Daylight is high contrast for sun off snow. It opens on your last good read when you have no bars. WHAT THIS IS NOT Not a bird count. Not a guarantee. Not a substitute for scouting. DUCKCAST PRO Live radar, the freeze line, live crop harvest, and hunter reports. $19.99 per month or $159.99 per year, auto-renewing until you cancel in Settings. The map, region detail and season timing stay free. Season dates, limits, and legal shooting hours change every year. Verify with your state wildlife agency before you hunt. Weather by Open-Meteo. Radar from NOAA NEXRAD. Crop progress from USDA NASS. Not endorsed by any of them. Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

ALERTS ARE NO LONGER SUBSCRIBER-ONLY DuckCast can now tell you when a marsh you saved has its best day of the season, whether or not you subscribe. Save a region, say yes when it asks about notifications, and that is it. Free gets one alert per region per season, plus one when a state you watch lights up somewhere else. DuckCast Pro is the rest of them: every threshold, every time conditions change, all season. FIXED: THE WRONG STATE'S MARSH If you had a region saved, the Tomorrow's Hunt card could show a region from a different state, with that state's date and regulations link, while the map above it showed the state you actually picked. The map, the scores and the region rankings were always right. The card underneath them was not.
