Describe it and your phone makes it. Several versions drift under each other at different lengths, so the repeat never comes round while you are awake to hear it.
Most sleep apps play you a recording. This one creates the sound from what you
type. In seconds.
Say what you want to hear — "rain on a canvas tent", or "a box fan in a big
empty room" — and SleepDrift builds it on your iPhone. What you describe is
never picked from a library.
Recorded tracks come back around every few minutes, and once you have heard the
join you can't unhear it. SleepDrift makes several versions of your sound and
drifts between them, with a second bed underneath running to a deliberately
different length. The two only line up again after hours, so the repeat never
comes round while you are there to hear it.

notification as a backup if the app isn't running by then
• Nightstand mode, an ultra-dim clock you can read at 3am, with backgrounds and
an amber nightlight
• Favourites kept for good, with icons you pick
TYPE IN YOUR OWN LANGUAGE
The app is in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese,
Korean and Chinese, and you can describe a sound in any of them. Your words are
translated on the phone before the sound is made — nothing is sent anywhere.

IT RUNS ON YOUR PHONE
No account and no servers. Nothing you type and nothing you make leaves the
device, and after the download it needs no internet at all, so it works in
airplane mode all night.
FOR NURSERIES
Guidance for infant sleep puts all-night sound under about 50 dB, with the
speaker across the room rather than beside the cot. SleepDrift won't pretend to
measure that; a phone can't do it reliably. The test that works is simpler: if
you have to raise your voice over it, it is too loud.
UNLOCK ONCE, OR SUBSCRIBE
Your first sound is free to make, and everything you make is yours to keep.
Until you unlock the app, saved sounds play five minutes at a time. Subscribe
and the first week is free, so you can sleep a full night to it before you
decide — or skip the subscription and unlock it forever with one payment.
Either way, the sounds you have already made keep playing, and your library is
never taken away.
The free week becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours
before it ends. A subscription renews each month or year until you cancel it,
and is billed to your Apple Account. Manage or cancel it in Settings › Apple
Account › Subscriptions.
