Texts throughout the app are shorter and more consistent, from hints to the help. Small buttons in the studio, the works list and the drawing tools are easier to hit.

FrameFold 2.7 Now in 17 languages – and with tools like a pro studio. • Camera moves: pan and zoom across part of the image, smooth or steady. • Image layers: place your own images, also with transparency, over the film – in any order. • Rotoscoping: bring in a video as frames, draw over it and replace the photo in the film with paper. • Work as a file: long-press a work in the list → “Share as file …”. Via AirDrop or Files it goes to iPad, iPhone or Mac, where FrameFold opens a copy. No cloud, no account. • Sound: five music pieces, voice effects (high, deep, robot), trim and fade audio tracks. • Hold a frame: let a frame stay for 2, 3, 4 or 6 frames. • Studio: lights via DMX (Art-Net) and motion control via Bluetooth – values per frame, set before each shot. FrameFold 2.6 Now on iPad too – and with sound. • Undo and redo for everything in a work (reordering, removing, text …) – by button or ⌘Z. The Studio is now on iPhone too (live settings → Studio). • Text, speech bubbles and drawing: press and hold a frame → “Text & drawing …”. Text and bubbles span several frames, drawings belong to one frame. • Full resolution: every frame comes as a photo from the sensor, export up to 4K. Plus lens choice (ultra wide, telephoto, front camera), clap to shoot, adding photos as frames and looks for the whole film. • iPad: FrameFold runs on iPad, portrait and landscape. In a stand, viewfinder and frames follow the way the device is turned. • Green screen, title and credits: replace green or blue with an image or a movie, plus a title card before the film and credits after it. • Studio on iPad: from Advanced mode the camera becomes a pro workspace – timeline, toggle between live view and captured frames, multi-frame onion skin, masks, loupe, multiple audio tracks with waveform, X-sheet with mouth shapes. • Record voice: the film plays along while you speak – the recording lands exactly in the right place. It stays on the device. • Music or sound: pick an audio file in the work view – it plays under the exported film. • Up to 30 fps: 15, 24, 25 and 30 fps for smooth motion. • Manual camera (from Advanced): set ISO, shutter speed, focus and white balance yourself – the automatic metering then stays out of it. • Duplicate and reorder frames: press and hold a frame for “Duplicate”, “Move earlier” and “Move later” – or simply drag it to a new place in the contact sheet. • Sound effects and text to speech: attach pop, whoosh, drum roll, ta-da and more to any frame – or have a voice speak typed text. Everything is made on the device. Plus a help section with short guides in the settings. • Now also in Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Japanese and Portuguese – and a sample work is waiting on first launch to try things out.

FrameFold 2.5 When the tripod gets bumped – and when one frame isn't right. • Tripod moved? If the background sits differently than in the first frame, FrameFold tells you and can show the first frame to line things up again. “It's fine” keeps the new position. • Retake a single frame: press and hold a frame in the contact sheet and choose “Retake” – the next frame replaces exactly this one, in place. The old one stays in the trash for 30 days. • Fixed: “Continue with the camera” could get stuck on the result of the last session.

FrameFold 2.4 Steadier films and a new way to share. • Reduce flicker: when exporting, FrameFold evens out brightness from frame to frame – clouds, room light or auto exposure no longer make the film flicker. Slow changes in light stay. On by default, can be turned off in the export settings. • Share as GIF: below every finished film – an endlessly looping GIF for messengers, school platforms and slides that don’t play video.

FrameFold 2.3.1 Smoother capture, and videos and live sessions together in one work. • Add a video to a work: "Save" asks whether to start a new work or append the frames to an existing one. • "Choose frames again" now in Simple mode too – drop a frame without analysing everything again. • Undo: its own button in Simple mode; afterwards the onion skin shows the previous frame again. • Capture stays smooth when the shutter fires; the hand check runs in the background. • Rename and delete works with a long press; the contact sheet loads faster. • Capture settings are remembered; the film loop in the viewfinder plays at the finished film's speed. • Better VoiceOver support; dates in PDFs follow your language. • Fixed: after a film was made, the screen could jump back to “Building stop-motion…”.

FrameFold 2.3 Tidied up and fine-tuned. • "Works" and "Studio": the tab is now called Works, the third mode Studio. • Continue with the camera: from any work straight back to the viewfinder; the camera can now list all your works. • Switching tabs during a session finishes it instead of resetting it. • Apple Watch: the shutter is only active while the iPhone viewfinder is open, and confirms every frame. • Transitions stay steady with shake correction; frames of different sizes fill the frame. • Flip book and exhibition reel in the app's colours; the flip book needs far less memory. • Long videos can be cancelled; easier-to-read counter, VoiceOver announcements when a frame is taken.

FrameFold 2.2.1 Your works are safer. • Trash: removed frames now truly stay restorable for 30 days – in older works, too. • Swiping in the project list asks before a work is deleted. • Contact sheet: after removing a frame, every tile shows the right image again. • Discard and undo only affect the frames of the current session. • Works are saved more safely. If a frame can't be saved, FrameFold tells you. • The start screen greets you without a name.

FrameFold 2.2 More for iPhone Duo. • Film on the outer display: with the Duo unfolded and a session running, the outside shows the film so far, the frame count and what the camera is doing. You can turn it off in the capture settings. • Viewfinder around the fold: unfolded in landscape, the camera and the film sit left and right of the fold – flat or half open. • Folded shut, the camera image now runs all the way under the side bar. • Two labels in the viewfinder now appear in English and French, too.

FrameFold 2.1 The auto-shutter on a tripod has been reworked from the ground up. • Slow hands: the camera now waits until your fingertips have left the frame, too. • Low light and flickering lamps: your moves are detected reliably, no more missing frames. • No duplicate frames: a reach that changes nothing, or a passing shadow, no longer fires the shutter. • Focus: the camera now tells a plainer subject from a real loss of focus. It fires right away for the first and refocuses for the second.

FrameFold 2.0.1 Shutter after a change of subject: When a printed sheet turns into a plain, folded surface, the camera on a tripod now fires again right away. Before, it took the less detailed subject for a blurry one and waited a few seconds. Plus a short preview video on the App Store.

FrameFold 2.0 — watch it take shape, then hold it in your hands. The film grows as you work: while you fold, the stop-motion is already playing as a loop — small in the viewfinder, large on the studio monitor next to the camera feed. Anyone watching sees both at once: the hands at work and the piece they're making. Flip book: every work becomes a print-ready flip book — A4 sheets with cut lines, a binding edge and numbered leaves. Cut, staple, flip. In every mode, under Print.

Finer frame selection: FrameFold now catches small steps too, such as a single new crease. Until now such steps could be dropped as repeats, especially when the work was small in the frame. Steadier under artificial light: flickering LED or fluorescent lamps and changing daylight no longer produce duplicate frames.

FrameFold now speaks English — the whole app, from first launch to the contact sheet. The language follows your iPhone's setting. This is the first English release. If a phrase reads oddly somewhere, we'd like to know.

Ideal, wenn mehrere Leute zusehen sollen, während das iPhone am Stativ steht. Apple Watch: Auslösen und Beenden vom Handgelenk aus, mit Bildzähler und Zustand. Niemand muss mehr das Stativ berühren.
