Prayer times now follow Diyanet's calendar for Europe in summer too. Until now, the dawn and night prayers in Germany were often far off between April and August, by up to 50 minutes in Hamburg in June. The night prayer was also five to eight minutes late all year. Semaya now calculates all six times the way Diyanet does and usually matches the official times to the minute. In Turkey, too, Semaya now calculates the way Diyanet does. The afternoon, sunset and night prayers there were often one or two minutes off the official times. If you used the fine adjustment to match a time to your mosque, please set it back to 0 and compare the times once more. Prayer reminders could stop after about ten days. Semaya now schedules them again every time it opens and, where the system allows it, in the background as well. On the Shia path, the calendar now shows the commemoration days of the twelve Imams. If you had increased the system font size, the buttons on the first screen were out of reach. That is fixed, every screen scrolls now. Thanks to Hussein Abboud, who reported it. New in the settings: north of 48 degrees you can choose how the dawn and night prayers are calculated in summer. The version number is shown there too.

Semaya now speaks French. That makes eleven languages. The French prayer names follow Diyanet’s own French wording: Sobh, Dhohr, Asr, Maghrib, Icha. If you are used to the Arabic or Turkish names, you can switch in the settings.

The fine adjustment now goes up to 90 minutes instead of 30. If you match the times to your mosque’s board, 30 minutes was not always enough. Hold the buttons down to adjust faster. The location prompt on first launch now appears in your language. Before, it was in German no matter which language you had set. And the App Store now lists all ten languages Semaya speaks.

Prayer times have been corrected. The afternoon prayer was about an hour late. At northern latitudes, the morning and night prayers were off by more than an hour on many days. Wording fixes in several languages: in Kurmancî the note for the afternoon prayer carried the wrong label, in Arabic a word was misspelled, and in Persian the form of address kept switching. Accessibility reworked: better contrast, VoiceOver on every screen, larger tap targets, and support for Reduce Motion on the compass. Content width on iPad and text scaling were adjusted as well.
