iPhone
Play chess online against real people, learn from every game you lose, and get a little sharper every day. Everything a chess player needs, in one app.
PLAY ONLINE, RATED
Rapid and Blitz games against real players from around the world, matched to your level. Every game moves your Elo, and the two ratings are kept apart, so a bad night at blitz never touches your rapid rating. Chat with your opponent, or turn chat off in Settings.
SEASONS
A new season every two weeks. Win games to earn points, climb from tier to tier, meet players from every corner of the world and finish the season with a frame everyone you play will see.
BATTLE
Chess where every capture is a fight. Watch the pieces clash in 3D on the battlefield, choose your army and your arena, and climb a Battle rating of its own.
PLAY THE COMPUTER, A FRIEND OR THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU
Five computer levels, from your first game to master strength. Invite a friend to a private room with a code, or pass the phone across the table for a two-player game with undo.
WATCH LIVE GAMES
Follow the strongest games being played right now, move by move, and talk about them with the other viewers.
VARIANTS
Chess960, King of the Hill and Three-check. Familiar pieces, new rules, no rating at stake.
PUZZLES EVERY DAY
Thousands of puzzles taken from real games, sorted by level and by theme: forks, pins, mates, endgames and more. A Daily Puzzle to keep your streak alive, Puzzle Rush against the clock in 3 minutes, 5 minutes or Survival, and your own mistakes turned into puzzles of their own.
UNDERSTAND YOUR GAMES
After every game a full review shows your accuracy, marks your best moves and your blunders, and explains in plain words what went wrong and what to play instead. Open any position on the analysis board and see the engine's best lines.
LEARN STEP BY STEP
Six courses and 120 interactive lessons, from how the pieces move to checkmate patterns, tactics, endgames and the main openings. An opening library and an opening trainer that brings back the lines you keep forgetting until they stick.
CLASSIC GAMES
More than 70,000 games by the greatest players in history, with the story behind the famous ones. Replay them move by move, or play Guess the Move and find what the masters played.
TRAINING TOOLS
Coordinates practice, blindfold chess, set up any position and play it out, a chess clock for games over a real board, and board scan: point your camera at a board in a book, on a screen or on a table and analyse it in seconds.
SHARE YOUR BEST GAMES
Export any game as PGN, as a board image or as an animated GIF, or save the board straight to Photos.
MAKE IT YOURS
13 boards, 8 piece sets and a full 3D board. Pick your name, avatar, frame and title, earn badges, finish daily quests and keep your streak going. Your progress lives on your account, so you can also keep playing on the web.
