I got fined €80 in Budapest for forgetting to validate my transit ticket. So I built Unfined. Around the world, buying a ticket may not be the final step. Depending on the city, product, and medium, you may need to stamp paper, tap a card, activate an app ticket, or validate again during the trip. Travelers often discover the rule only when an inspector appears. Unfined is the reminder that cost me €80 to wish existed. HOW IT WORKS • Approach a covered metro station → receive a lock-screen validation reminder. • Board a tram or bus → motion-based detection can deliver a mode-specific reminder. • Tap "I'm boarding — how do I validate?" → jump directly to the city's validation guidance. • Open the city guide for where to validate, fine schedules, transfer rules, practical warnings, and official source dates. 68 COVERAGE AREAS Coverage spans Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia, including city networks and reviewed national or regional rail systems. Every coverage area includes localized fare-action guidance and official sources with checked dates. Fine and transfer information appears only where the operator publishes a reviewed rule. IMPORTANT Unfined does not sell tickets or certify that a fare is valid. Transit rules and operator systems remain authoritative. Reminders are a safety aid, not legal or inspection evidence.
