The method asks for three things. Exactly ten goals, written out in your own words. A single line from one to ten, in which each entry really does come before the one below it. And the top one broken down until a step is standing there that you could take this week. The list is read daily and rewritten on paper once a month. tenfold keeps that list and handles the logistics.
Ordering ten at once is beyond anybody. Comparing two is easy. tenfold shows two goals and asks which one you would keep if you could only have one. About twenty-five questions, two or three minutes, and the order you reach stays.
Then the top goal opens into the level below it, and that one into the next. The test at every level is the same: could somebody start this without a preparation of its own? If not, there is another level underneath. At the bottom there is usually a phone call.
After that the rhythm is short. Once a day, one question about the goal that knows the least about itself. A minute of typing, then closed. The Today screen gathers at most seven steps, and when nothing is due it says so and goes quiet.
What it is not. Not a task manager, not a habit app, not a calendar. No feed, no streaks, no points, no badges, no notification designed to pull you back in. tenfold does not tell you what to get done today. It tells you what you cannot get past this year.
Nothing readable leaves your device. What you type is encrypted on the device with your passphrase: PBKDF2 with 600,000 rounds, AES-256-GCM for the content. Sync is optional and off by default. Switched on, the server is a mailbox holding an unreadable block, with no idea whose it is. The key never leaves your device, so we cannot read your list. Lose the passphrase and the recovery key with no export, and the data is gone. There is no reset link, because there is no account to reset.
No account, no email address, no advertising, no subscription, no analytics. The list, the comparisons, the unfolding and the daily question run without a network. Reminders are local.
No AI inside. The app talks to no model, and there is no provider, key or switch to turn one on. It writes a prompt for one goal that you carry to whatever AI you already use, and you see a preview before anything is applied.
