Gym+ builds you a training programme, then logs the work.
Answer three questions — your goal, your experience, how many days a week you can train — and Gym+ produces an eight-week block you can actually run. Sets, reps and rest are tuned to the goal: heavy fives with three minutes' rest for strength, higher reps and short rests for fat loss. Every session comes from a library of 180 exercises, each tagged by muscle, equipment and difficulty.
Then it gets out of the way and lets you train.
TRAIN
• Start a session from your programme or from nothing
• Log weight and reps per set, with a rest timer that starts when you finish one
• The timer counts to a real deadline, so it stays right while the phone is in your pocket, and tells you when rest is up
• Personal records are spotted as you log them
KNOW WHAT TO LIFT NEXT
• Every exercise shows what you did last time and what to try now
• Suggestions follow double progression: build reps at a weight, then add load once every set has landed — not just your best one
• Weights round to a jump your gym can actually make
• Stall on a lift for three sessions and it tells you to back off instead of grinding
WORK OUT WHAT GOES ON THE BAR
• Built-in plate calculator, per side, from your bar weight
• Tells you when a weight simply cannot be loaded, and the closest that can
SEE THE PROGRESS
• Estimated one-rep max, session volume and sets over time
• Volume broken down by muscle group across four weeks
• An anatomical body map that shades what a lift trains — or what you have actually been training, so the gaps show
• A calendar of everything you have done
YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS
• No account, no sign-up, no sync
• No analytics and no tracking
• Everything is stored on your phone
• Export the lot to a file whenever you like, and import it back
• Uninstalling deletes it, because there is no copy anywhere else
Kilograms or pounds, throughout.

IMPORT FROM ANOTHER APP
Years of training should not stay locked in the app you are leaving. Profile →
Import from Another App now reads an export from Strong, Hevy or FitNotes.
It adds to your history rather than replacing it, so a Gym+ log you have already
started survives. Exercise names differ between apps, so anything short of a
certain match is listed for you to confirm, change or skip — and nothing is
written until you approve that screen. Importing the same file twice adds
nothing. Imported sets carry no effort rating, because another app's scale is
not this one's and a made-up number would skew your suggestions.
ADDING AN EXERCISE THE LIBRARY DOES NOT HAVE
You could always do this. You could not find it, which is the same thing.
A search that matches nothing now says so and offers to create what you typed,
already filled in. That includes the picker you use mid-workout: create the
movement and it goes straight into the session, instead of sending you out to
another tab to look for a button.
THE MUSCLE MAP WAS WRONG ABOUT PRESSING
The map drew one shape for the whole deltoid, so every pressing movement in the
library — bench included — shaded the back of the shoulder as though you had
trained it. Pressing is the front. The rear delt is now lit by the movements
that actually train it: the reverse flyes, face pulls and rows. The volume view
reads from the same place, so the two can no longer tell you different things.
THE TWO 1RM NUMBERS
Both were correct, which is why it read as a bug: the chart plots your last
eight sessions, the record is all-time, and neither said so. The chart now names
its window and draws your record as a line across it, rounded exactly as the
counter is, so they cannot disagree. When the record sits above everything
recently plotted, the chart makes room for it rather than cropping it off.
A READABLE SET ROW
The control that removes a set was the faintest colour in the app, in an
unlabelled column, with a tap target well under the size Apple asks for. It has
a label, a border, and a target you can actually hit now.
THE KEYBOARD OVER THE NOTES FIELD
Opening the keyboard covered the workout notes. Focusing the field now scrolls
it into view, and on Android the screen moves out of the way at all — it was not
doing so before.
