Sweets come down four chutes set into the rim of a copper tray. Tap a chute mouth and one sweet enters that lane, the whole line shifts along to make room, and whatever sat at the far end tips off the edge and is gone. Three of a kind in a row set hard and lift off the tray as sweetness. Nothing falls in to replace them. The tray only ever fills, so each pour is a decision about where the next gap goes and how long you can work around it.
Twenty four batches run across four recipe lines, and each line adds one complication instead of handing you all of them at once. The Sugar Bench keeps the tray still, so a gap stays exactly where the sugar set. The Boiling Room tilts the lane you poured along, which is what lets one set feed the next. The Cold Store brings hardened crusts and sweets that arrive still wrapped. The Winter Line drops lids over the chutes. Orders change from batch to batch: set twelve gumdrops, reach seven hundred sweetness, chip away two crusts, or finish the work having spilled no more than three sweets over the rim. Every batch is judged one to three ribbons, and the third is not handed out kindly.
Eight infusions back up the tray when a batch turns stubborn. Four are boiled from sugarleaf in the syrup workshop, and the other four come from pairing two of those in the pot, one recipe each, so there is nothing to guess at. Syrup Thread draws a whole lane off. Burnt Honey melts every crust at once. Around that sit a daily jar rolled from the date and identical for everyone who opens it, an almanac of forty leaves that fills in as you meet each sweet and each kind of trouble, twenty eight mastery marks across three tiers, a ledger of best batches, an open ended Free Pour, and a Counter Duel for two people taking turns on one screen.
