Tiny Chess: Unusual

Unusual 5×7 chess variant

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

A tiny 5×7 chess board with big personality. Start without a queen, promote a pawn to earn one, pick themes & piece styles, beat the AI, or invite a friend online. Tiny Chess: Unusual is chess like you've never played it — on a compact 5×7 board where every move counts. The twist: there's no queen at the start. Each side lines up as Rook · Knight · King · Bishop · Rook with a row of pawns. Want a queen? Push a pawn to the far side and promote it. The small board makes for fast, sharp, tactical games you can finish in minutes. FEATURES • Unusual 5×7 board — quick, tactical chess • No queen to start — earn one by promoting a pawn • Play vs the computer with 4 difficulty levels (Apprentice → Oracle) • Two players on one device (pass and play) • Online with friends — invite with a code, no random matchmaking • Beautiful color themes plus Pro themes • Piece styles: Classic, Modern, Antique — mix with any theme • Full chess rules: check, checkmate, stalemate, promotion, optional en passant • Smooth animations, haptics, and a playful 3D "flip the board" gag • Plays fully offline — online is optional No ads. No accounts. Just chess with a twist. Tiny Chess Pro (one-time purchase) unlocks all themes and online invites, and supports development.
