Memories you have a code for now keep saving in the background, usually overnight while your phone charges on wifi, so a big library no longer needs the app left open. A memory no longer flickers while you watch it, and pinching in zooms the photograph rather than the light behind it. The welcome screen after setup opens smoothly again.

Pulling a memory down no longer flickers. Wide photographs are shown whole, on the cover as well as in the story, and pinching in on any photo shows it whole. A heart on each memory marks the photo as a favourite in Photos and files it in a Memorylens album there, so a memory you have just seen is easy to find again.

Today's memories now play as a story. Open the day and each photo fills the screen for eight seconds, then the next year arrives on its own. Tap the right side to move on, the left side to go back, hold to pause, pinch to look closer. The day ends on a card that puts Send to under your thumb. Drag from the right to turn to the day before, like turning a block. Drag from the left to come back, or to leave. The scrolling feed is gone. Every memory now says which day you are looking at and how far back it is: Memory from 8 September 2024, 2 years ago today. Keep is offered once, right after setup, with the free version a tap away. If someone gave you a code, this is where it goes. Keep now saves the best few photos of each day rather than everything, so the days that matter are covered sooner.

You can now put a photo back on the day it actually happened. Photos exported from an editor, or saved out of a chat, arrive dated the day they were saved, so they surface on the wrong day. Tap the date on any memory to correct it, or let Memorylens check your whole library from Settings. Deleting a photo no longer leaves the viewer on a blank screen, and no longer skips the memory after it.
