WHAT THE APP CAN DO The app automatically uses the strongest source: original IDML, directly recognizable InDesign objects, a matching PDF export, an embedded page preview, or recovered text. A valid original IDML is verified and imported unchanged. MANY INPUT OPTIONS, A CLEAR WORKFLOW • Add INDB, INDD, INDT, IDML, PDF, ZIP, or a batch folder • Select a writable output folder • Optionally share search folders containing PDF s, graphics, and fonts • Process individual documents or the entire batch • Open IDML, a readable quality report, and a technical report REFINING RESULTS AFTERWARD Missing or ambiguous graphics, as well as missing, approximated, or replaced fonts, are listed individually. Later, assign original graphics, font files, resource folders, or a reference PDF and reconstruct only that document. The previous result is retained in case of failure. Fonts are not installed. WHAT IS GUARANTEED • Processing is entirely local, without an account, uploads, analytics, or tracking • Only explicitly selected files and folders are read • Originals and previous results are not overwritten • Each run receives a new results folder • An output IDML is structurally checked before the success status is determined TRANSPARENT RESULTS For each result, the app displays the reconstruction path and quality level, pages, texts, fonts, graphics, changes, limitations, and next steps. A readable HTML quality report and a technical JSON report are saved with the IDML. PDF/AI, JPEG, PNG, PSD, and TIFF are supported as linked graphics. EPS is skipped in the Mac App Store build and mentioned in the results. WHAT THE APP CANNOT DO OR GUARANTEE No reconstruction guarantees a pixel-perfect or completely identical reproduction. Layout, fonts, master pages, layers, tables, transparencies, effects, interactive content, or plug-in objects may be simplified, preserved only visually, or omitted. Missing original resources will neither be procured nor invented. A PDF opened on its own serves as the linked page base; it is not automatically broken down into editable individual objects. In an PDF-based INDD reconstruction, recovered text is additionally created in an editable format. The output is in IDML format for Affinity Publisher and can also be opened in Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, VivaDesigner, and Scribus. Always check the result. The app does not generate native .afpub or .afdesign files and does not open IDML directly in Affinity Designer. InDesign 1.0/1.5 containers and INDL libraries are not supported. Encrypted, severely damaged, or previously unknown structures may be partially or completely unrecoverable. INDD2IDML is not related to either Adobe or Serif/Affinity. InDesign, Affinity Publisher, and Affinity Designer are trademarks of their respective owners.
