Six divisions. One shootout at a time — take the kicks, read the run-up, make the saves, and climb from the bottom of the pyramid to the top.
Every penalty is two decisions: where to put it, and how hard to hit it.
Penalties: Football League is a penalty shootout game with a whole season behind it. Name your club, pick your kit, and start in the sixth division. Win your shootouts, finish top of the table, get promoted — all the way to the first.
TAKE THE KICK
Tap the goal to aim, then tap again to set the power. Power decides height: only a firm strike lifts the ball up under the bar, and a soft one stays low wherever you aimed. Hit it too hard and it goes wide of the post.
MAKE THE SAVE
You go in goal every other kick. Watch the striker's run-up — it leans towards the corner they have picked, though a good one will sell you a dummy. Tap the third you want to cover, and your keeper commits the moment the ball is struck.
CLIMB THE PYRAMID
- Six divisions, home and away, a full table with points, wins, draws and losses
- Every rival brings a different keeper, from a rookie who guesses late to a legend who reads you
- From the fourth division up, picking the right side stops being enough: you have to call high or low as well
- Finish first and you go up. Your season is waiting where you left it.

PLAY THE TOURNAMENT
Step outside the pyramid and play for a country instead of a club: pick the World Championship or the European Championship, choose your national team, and go through the groups into a straight knockout — quarter-final, semi-final, final. Every match is still won or lost on penalties; check the full bracket any time to see who's next.
Free kicks are luck. Penalties are nerve.
