Fight gravity, not just your opponent. Thrust through a cave, time your shield, rearm on your own platform and score three hits first. Play a friend nearby, or the AI.
Rocket Duel is a one-on-one dogfight between two rocket ships in a cave.
Gravity pulls you down, fuel runs out, and every shot counts. Aim with the stick, fire your thruster, and land three hits on your opponent before they land three on you. When you run low, land gently on your own platform to refuel, rearm and change weapons. Just don't fly into the other ship: a collision destroys you both.
SHIELD
Every ship has a shield. Raise it for one second and every shot that touches you is blocked, then wait five seconds while it recharges. Watch your opponent's shield bar too: the moment theirs drops is your chance.
PLAY NEARBY
Two iPhones or iPads in the same room connect directly over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. No internet, no accounts, no waiting for matchmaking.
PRACTICE
Fight a computer pilot at six difficulty levels, from gentle to ruthless. The higher levels shield, dodge and react fast. The sixth, RULES 6, learns how you fly and adapts to you, and keeps everything it learns on your device. Every match the computer is in a slightly different mood, so no two fights play out the same. Your Stats screen shows your record against each level.
AI VS AI
Sit back and watch two computer pilots fight it out. The camera pulls back to keep both ships in view and closes in as they fight.
REPLAYS
Every match is saved on your device. Watch it back, pause it, change the speed, and zoom by hand or let the camera frame the action.
FOUR WEAPONS
The standard round is always free. Unlock the Shotgun, the Heat-Seeker and the Grenade with coins, and each changes how you fight. The Heat-Seeker locks on when it gets close, and flies round rocks to find you. A good pilot can still outfly it.
EARN AND UNLOCK
Every match pays coins, win or lose. Spend them on weapons and new ship colours in the shop. New pilots start with enough for their first weapon.
FREE, WITH LIGHT ADS
Rocket Duel is free. There are no ads during a match and none in Play Nearby matches. There's a small banner on the menu, and an occasional full-screen ad between one-device matches, at most once every three minutes. You can also choose to watch a short video to double your coins from a match.
REMOVE ADS
A one-time purchase removes every ad for good. No subscription.
