Flockshift is a sliding puzzle about birds that will not stop where you want them to. Every bird belongs to a coloured flock. Pick a flock, pick a direction, and every free bird in it slides at once — all the way, until a wall, another bird, or a nest of its own colour brings it to a halt.
Get every bird home. That is the whole game.
HOW IT WORKS • Tap a bird to choose its flock. Swipe to send that flock moving. • Birds never stop halfway. They slide until something blocks them. • A bird that reaches a nest of its own colour settles there for good — and from that moment it is a wall like any other. • A nest of the wrong colour is just floor. Birds slide straight over it. • Birds travel as a queue: the one behind moves into the space the leader has just left.
Those five rules are the entire game. There is nothing else to learn, and by the end of level thirteen you will have met all of them.
THIRTY LEVELS The first thirteen teach, one idea at a time, without a word of tutorial text. The seventeen after that are the exam, ordered by how hard they actually proved to be rather than how hard they looked. The longest takes nine turns, and every one of the nine has to be right.
Every level has been checked by a solver, so the shortest solution is known and no board can be unsolvable. When the game says a level falls in seven turns, it falls in seven turns.
YOU CAN ALWAYS TAKE IT BACK • Undo steps back one move, as far back as you like. • Restart puts the board exactly as it started. • Level Hint tells you what the level costs and which flock opens it — the turn count and the first move, and nothing more. • Genuinely stuck? Once you have really worked at a board, the game offers to play the solution out for you, or to let you skip it and come back later. Neither is locked behind anything but honest effort.
TELL THEM APART WITHOUT THE COLOUR Every flock has its own silhouette as well as its own colour — the red birds are round, the blue ones crested, the yellow ones long-tailed — and every nest echoes the shape of the birds that belong in it. Turn the colour off entirely and the board still reads.
