A contingency you kept can get you a credit, or let you walk away with your earnest money. • Then own the home month by month, through repairs, a tax reassessment, and a refinance window. Its ring segment turns to Revisit, and one quick question brings it back. • Concept sheets change with what you know: a worked example in numbers first, then the same ticket with the last step blank, then just the rule. • Each cluster in the Concept Library has a guidebook: what ties its concepts together, and one situation worked several ways. YOUR CALL, FIRST • Before you place an order, you can say how sure you are. The outcome screen leads with your call, what happened, and the one line that explains the difference. • Your first market order asks what you'll pay a share before anything else, and shows you once it fills. TODAY'S DECISION, PICKED FOR YOU • Today's two topics now come from what's slipping: never two of the same kind, and never yesterday's kind. Once you've proven a concept, it comes back as a harder version. A PLAN FOR TOMORROW • Session Complete leads with what you did, then ends with one sentence you finish: "Tomorrow, after my coffee, I'll start the Volatile market." The daily reminder, if you turn it on, follows that moment and names what's open. NEW HERE? • Three quick questions come before your numbers. Understudy opens on a stage now, and it may ask you once how it's going. A STAGE TO OPEN ON • Instead of a blank screen, the app opens on Cue's stage under a spotlight, then your first screen. ONE QUESTION, ONCE • When you finish a session that ended at or above what you put in, the app may ask for an App Store rating. It never asks after a session that ended below, and never more than once a version. You can always rate from Settings. Finishing your first session takes far fewer taps. FEWER STOPS • A holding's first dividend still stops the clock and asks what to do with it. Later ones land quietly as cash, the summary says what they paid, and you can reinvest any time from the ticket. • A stock split in something you don't hold no longer stops the clock. • Quiet dividends aren't decisions waiting, so they no longer count toward the amber line on Your Activity or the app icon's badge. THE CLOCK REMEMBERS YOUR STEP • Choose a day, a week or a month from the time control's menu once, and the button keeps advancing by that step, in every session. KNOW WHAT YOU'RE STARTING • Each scenario card says how long its session runs. • Until your first session finishes, its Continue card says your recap and Today's decision open at the end. A ring for what you've proven, and a clock that shows its work. YOUR REPERTOIRE RING • Stocks' concepts now form a ring, grouped into five topics. It fills when you show you know a concept in a session, or tap "I've got this". Reading alone doesn't count. • It shows how many you've proven, or how many are left. Never a score. • Tap it on Pick a Path or Your Activity to open the new concept library, where every concept opens its explanation. MOVING THE CLOCK, IN ORDER • When you advance, the date rolls forward, then settled cash appears, then how your holdings moved over that stretch, then any event that needs you. • When a prediction you made proves a concept, the ring fills right there on the order's screen. CUE REACTS • Cue reacts to what the market does, never to your balance: calm at a dividend, surprised at earnings, curious at a split, thinking through a sector rotation, planted through a crash. • A session that proves a concept ends with Cue's bow. Otherwise, a thumbs-up for the practice. A GENTLER START • After setup, your risk profile arrives in three beats, with your ten-year range drawn as a spread and where most first rehearsals start. A rebuilt Settings, and a note from the person who makes Understudy. SETTINGS, REDRAWN Settings now looks like the rest of the app. Every row has an icon and, where it helps, a line on what it does. The symbol at the end of a row tells you what a tap will do: open a screen, open a web page, share, write an email, or change the setting right there. THREE NEW PAGES • What's new: a short note for each release, from 1.0 to this one. • Roadmap: what's in progress, what's planned, what's being weighed, and what has shipped. • From the studio: who makes Understudy, and where its numbers come from, path by path. HELP AND HAPTICS • Write to Roberto opens an email with your app version, iOS version and device filled in. Without a mail app, it copies the address. • New rows to rate Understudy and to share it. • A small tap now marks an order filling and a concept becoming known. The new Haptics switch turns the taps off. EASIER TO READ • Text and icons that were too light are a shade deeper, including the coral and green that show prices moving down and up, so they're easier to read on every background. PLAINER NAMES • Reset simulations is now Reset rehearsals. It clears your saved sessions and past projections, and keeps your numbers and concept progress. • Reset profile is now Reset your numbers. It clears your income, savings, expenses and risk tolerance, and keeps your accounts. ACCOUNTS, REDRAWN • Each kind of account now shows its total and its own Add account row. • Add Account has rounder type chips, the balance and monthly amount side by side, and Save pinned to the bottom. • The screen for choosing where an account is held has its search field on the page, and "Other / not listed" stays in view. Fixes from watching a full rehearsal on a real phone. YOUR PROGRESS, RESTORED If you reinstalled Understudy or signed in on another phone, your concept progress, numbers, accounts and past sessions could come back and then disappear. They now stay put, and the app repairs anything it saved the wrong way. PREMIUM THE MOMENT YOU BUY IT Buying Premium now unlocks the screen you're on, whether that's the order ticket, the order types, the Outcome Dashboard or your accounts. No need to back out and come back. THE TRIAL REMINDER Start the Annual trial with "Remind me before it ends" switched on, and Understudy now schedules that reminder for two days before billing. If notifications are turned off, the trial screen says so before you start. CLEARER NUMBERS • Prices and figures no longer break across two lines. • A small move shows cents, like −$0.24, instead of −$0. • The Annual plan's weekly price rounds correctly: $0.96, not $0.95. • The range shown after setup is now worked out over ten years correctly, and it uses the same monthly amount Set the Scene suggests. SMALLER FIXES • A second order is no longer titled "Your first order". • The setup progress bar stays solid while you scroll. • The 2007 replay no longer names a fund that didn't exist yet. • A single stock's receipt no longer calls it a fund. • Pick a Path's tags describe how each path behaves. • Syncing across devices is free, and the paywall no longer lists it as Premium. Meet Cue, and a quicker first rehearsal. MEET CUE Understudy has a new face. Cue is a ghost light, the lamp a theater leaves burning on an empty stage so no one walks in the dark. Cue is on the new app icon and in every illustration in the app. PREDICT, THEN PLACE Once a session, before a sell stop or a buy limit goes in, Understudy asks you to predict what happens if the price opens past your number. The Order Outcome screen tells you whether you were right, but only when the market actually tested it. And concepts no longer count as learned just because they have been on screen a few times. A QUICKER FIRST REHEARSAL • Your first filled order is three screens closer, and setup now shows a progress bar. • Accounts moved out of setup. They're still in Profile → Accounts. • The Stocks primer is a link you can open any time, not a stop on the way in. • The button that starts a session stays in view, so there's no scrolling to begin. • An empty portfolio suggests a place to start: most first rehearsals use a broad-market fund, one tap away. FIXES • Restore Purchases now tells you what it found: Premium restored, a subscription that ended on a date, or nothing to restore. • Pick a Path loads with its header in place instead of jumping. • Your Activity no longer flashes the wrong screen while it loads. • Your concept progress is no longer downloaded again on every launch. • The Add Account keyboard has a Done key, and tapping away closes it. • The tab bar no longer slides across the first time you open a tab. • Market events now read "$60 below their high" instead of running a dash into a minus sign.
