Some conversations leave you unsure of your own memory. The promise that was "definitely next week" three times. The question about pay that never got an answer. The "I never said that" — when you're sure it was said.
The Ice Mirror gives one difficult relationship its own private case — a boss, a partner, family, a friend who owes you money — and connects weeks of fragments into one wall.
WHAT THE CASE WALL SHOWS
• Promise ledger: what was promised, by when, and what happened — kept, not kept, moved later, or later denied.
• Questions still not answered: the same question asked again is one thread, marked answered, talked around or ignored.
• Denied, but on the record: a denial placed next to the earlier message on the same point. The record doesn't decide who's right; it keeps what was said.
• Recurring moves: guilt for past favours, comparison with "everyone else", keeping things from outside eyes, big promises without specifics, harsh-then-sweet cycles and more — each with every quote, how strong the research behind it is, an ordinary explanation, and what would change the reading.
• A pattern only counts once it repeats on different days. Nothing is decided from one message.
THE SAME MIRROR, TURNED ON YOU
Every check also runs on your own messages. If the other person describes you as checking or controlling them, you'll see that first.
REHEARSE THE NEXT CONVERSATION
Practise against their own lines, typed or out loud with the front camera as a mirror. Afterwards you see where you asked something concrete, where you held a limit, and where you defended your character instead of the facts.
BUILT FOR SOMEONE WHOSE PHONE MAY BE CHECKED
A quick-exit button on every screen turns the app into a plain notebook — and it stays a notebook after a restart. Add an app PIN and a decoy PIN that opens the notebook. No notifications, and the app switcher shows a blank page. If messages mention choking, threats to kill, weapons or stalking, the app shows local help lines before anything else.
ADD WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE
Chat screenshots (read on your iPhone), WhatsApp exports, LINE exports, Telegram Desktop exports, pasted text, or a note of what was said in person. Export the case as a PDF with every original's fingerprint, or as JSON.
HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT CAN'T DO
No app can tell if someone is lying, and this one never tries. It describes what messages do, not who someone is — no labels, no diagnoses, no scores for people. It only sees what you add.
Apple Intelligence (optional): on supported iPhones, a deep read looks for what the rules miss — every point must quote your record exactly, or it's discarded — and plays the other person in rehearsals. Everything else works without it.
Also: "How the ancients read people" — lines from the Analects, Mencius, Xunzi and the Ice Mirror classic itself, each checked against the original text.
