• Variable aperture on iPhone 18 Pro: the new A (Aperture Priority) mode opens and closes the main lens between f/1.48 and f/4.0 for real, and M mode can name an aperture directly. • New Highlight protection: the film engine now rolls the brightest tones into white instead of letting them hit it, so petals, cloud and reflections keep their detail. Can be turned off in Settings. • New look, Lucid (S): clear colour at a slightly lower contrast. As Shot has moved onto the tone pad. • Exposure compensation (EV) in S and A modes. • S and M now say so when the camera cannot reach the exposure you asked for, or when the shutter is slow enough to shake. • The white balance temperature dial now lands exactly on the daylight, tungsten and other presets.

Fixes manual shutter and ISO not taking effect in M and S modes on some models.

Fixes a crash that could occur when taking a photo in M mode on some models.

• Manual mode supports a physical variable aperture: on a lens with an aperture range, such as the iPhone 18 Pro main camera, the dial gains an f-number and the viewfinder shows that aperture's depth of field. Models with a fixed aperture don't show the control. • The film engine now works with the front camera. • The filter row in the viewfinder loops around. • Colour and tone adjustments reach further, so moving them makes a clearer difference. • With the adjustment pad open, a swipe across the picture above it still changes the colour system. • As Shot can use the colour and tone adjustments too.

• New Keep Color filter: tap the picture to choose the color to keep; everything else goes black and white. • New Keep Subject filter: recognizes people, animals and objects automatically — the subject stays in color, the background goes black and white. • Editor: filters shown as thumbnails of your photo, adjustments update live, and Keep Color can be picked by tapping. • Night mode: signs and lights no longer blow out; night mode stays off beyond the optical zoom range. • Smoother live view on Apple Watch.

• New: Apple Watch remote — see the live view, fire the shutter, use the self-timer, zoom with the Digital Crown, and switch between photo and video from your wrist. • White balance is now a menu: tap AWB to pick a light source, long-press to lock. • Film mode S/M: the live view now matches the finished photo far more closely. • Night mode protects highlights: white objects and lights no longer blow out, while shadows are lifted naturally. • Fixed the preview looking too bright after switching from S/M back to P.

AIO Camera 3.0 — a major redesign • New layout: P/S/M and format are drop-down menus at the top; EV, white balance and filters sit on the viewfinder; icons turn upright when you hold the phone sideways. • New "As Shot" look, now the default, keeps the iPhone's own colour — seven looks in all, and swiping cycles through them endlessly. • A colour × tone pad replaces the strength slider and updates the viewfinder as you drag; each look remembers its own setting. • Skin protection: with people in the frame, looks apply at half strength on skin. • Switch between the Standard and Film engines right from the format menu. • S and M start from auto exposure's settings and show an exposure meter; long shutters look closer to the photo in the viewfinder. • Night mode: fewer blown highlights in brighter scenes, and much faster, steadier processing on older iPhones. • Photos are shared as pictures, not files.

• Night mode: fixed the ultra-wide lens being used when the zoom sat just under 1×; better ultra-wide night shots; a burst interrupted by the system now finishes itself. • The denoiser retrained on many more iPhone 17 Pro night scenes. • Settings: Night mode off / automatic / on.

• Film engine: every photo is a single raw frame straight from the sensor, developed and coloured by the app itself, with none of the system's multi-frame fusion or HDR. Like a one-lens film camera. • White balance: tap to change the light, hold to lock; a kelvin dial in M. • The six looks retuned: skin, skies and greens sit better. • The roll pages further back into your library, up to 100 photos. • Tidier settings, and a layout fix in M.

• Night mode: engages on its own in the dark, merges a burst of RAW frames and denoises them with an on-device model. Works on the front camera too, with automatic fill light when there is no light at all. • Face priority: focus and exposure follow the faces in the frame, each with a square; tap one to choose it. • Double-tap a subject to follow it; focus and exposure track it as it moves. • Take a photo while recording video, without interrupting the recording. • A format badge at the top opens the matching setting; the 48MP switch now lives under Output. • A reminder when a newer version is available.

• The roll now lists your recent library photos, ready to edit with AIO Camera's looks; DNG included. • The shutter is ready again as soon as a frame is captured, and zero shutter lag is on. • The filter picker shows each filter on the live viewfinder in a row of small previews. • The front camera offers 0.5x and 1x where the iPhone supports it, and opens at 0.5x. • Fixes the front camera image being squeezed after switching the framing at 1x. • Fixes a spurious "recording failed" message when the record button was pressed twice quickly. • Photos deleted in the Photos app are now removed from the app's review strip as well. • The grid switch is remembered.

• The first-run guide gains three pages: a default look (compare all six on a street photo), handedness, and shutter vibration. • Fixes the top toolbar occasionally sitting under the Dynamic Island, with the shutter against the bottom edge, on some iPhones. • Thicker grid lines. • The exposure compensation (EV) dial in P mode now clicks at every third of a stop.

• The front camera gains resolution (1080P/4K) and frame rate (24/30) settings for video. • The front camera's aspect ratio can now be chosen freely. • The front camera's viewfinder now matches the colour of the photo it takes more closely. • With RAW+JPEG, the DNG is now saved to Photos as its own item, ready to open in other apps. • P mode gains an exposure compensation (EV) dial, ±3 stops. • New 48MP High Resolution mode (iPhone 14 Pro and later): 48MP at 0.5×, 1× and 4×, RAW included. • Shutter and ISO in S/M are now third-stop dials with a click at every stop; the dial can sit on either side for left- or right-handed use. • Fixes the camera not working after location access was declined on first launch. • Fixes the RAW+JPEG setting being lost when the app was reopened, and the viewfinder freezing after reopening the guide from Settings.

• Taking a photo now has a shutter feel: a click in the hand and a blackout in the viewfinder, the way a reflex camera does it. Can be turned off in Settings → Capture.

• Video gains resolution (1080P/4K) and frame rate (24/30/60) settings, listing only the combinations the camera in use can actually record. • Swipe up on a recording in the preview to see its resolution, frame rate, length and size. • The colour dial now stays open after you choose a look, so you can compare them one after another. Tap the aperture button again to close it. • Photo editing gains a horizontal flip, which works alongside rotation. • A smoother viewfinder while recording in 4K, and no pause when changing colour system. • Fixes Restore Purchases doing nothing at all when tapped. • Fixes the app still showing as locked after a purchase completed in the App Store, until it was force-quit and reopened.

• Photos now carry full EXIF: aperture, shutter, ISO, focal length, and lens. The photo info panel shows them too. • Edited copies inherit the original EXIF and the place the photo was taken. • Night capture has been removed. Long exposure lives in S (shutter priority), where the shutter slider reaches whole seconds; multi-frame capture in dim light is now decided by the scene. • Fixed ISO running away in S at long shutter speeds, which could turn the viewfinder black or stop capture altogether. • The camera now recovers on its own when the system interrupts it, instead of needing a relaunch. • Fixed switching to P discarding a shutter you had already chosen.

• Adds a zoom button row to the viewfinder. The stops are the points where this iPhone actually changes lens. • Adds a Zoom Mode setting. Optical Stops keeps the zoom on those points, so every frame is that lens's own image; Continuous allows any factor, with some loss of detail. • Fixes a hang where the shutter stopped responding after several shots and photos failed to save. • Fixes 0.5× ultra-wide being unreachable in S and M modes. • Fixes the RAW + JPEG option not appearing on iPhones that support ProRAW. • Restores automatic lens switching for close-up focusing. • Photos and videos from the current session now share one roll, in capture order — swipe to move between them. • Removes the A mode and the background blur.
