Create personalized soundscapes for sleep, relaxation, focus, or a calming bedtime environment for babies and young children. Simple Sounds makes it easy to combine ambient audio, adjust every part of your mix, and choose exactly how and when playback ends.
BUILD YOUR OWN SOUND MIX
• Choose from a wide variety of white and pink noise, water, weather, nature, mechanical, transportation, and other ambient sounds.
• Combine up to three sounds into one live mix.
• Adjust each sound’s volume independently to create the ambience that works for you.
• Import a compatible personal audio file through the system Files picker and include it in your mix.
TIMERS THAT END YOUR WAY
• Select a preset duration or choose a custom stop time.
• Stop playback immediately when the timer ends.
• Fade your sound mix out gradually over the final minute.
• Transition into an alarm when it is time to wake up.
Alarm choices include a variety of synthesized tones, a localized voice repeating “Wake up” at randomized intervals, or gradually raising every sound in your current mix to full app-level volume.
CONTROL PLAYBACK THROUGHOUT iOS
• Play and pause from Simple Sounds, the Lock Screen, or Control Center.
• Use supported Siri commands to play sounds, add sounds to a mix, control playback, and configure stop times.
• Keep listening while using other apps or while your device is locked.
• Move between the device speaker, Bluetooth devices, and AirPods with appropriate route-change handling.
• Restore your mix, individual volumes, timer selection, and ending preferences after relaunch. The restored mix intentionally remains paused until you choose to play it.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Simple Sounds requires no account and no network connection for core playback. Personal audio files remain within the app and are not uploaded by Simple Sounds.
There are no advertisements, subscriptions, analytics, tracking, or personal-data collection.
Simple Sounds offers a localized interface across 34 supported languages. When a matching iOS system voice is available, the spoken “Wake up” alarm uses the selected language.
Whether you are masking distracting background activity, concentrating on a task, relaxing at the end of the day, or creating a comfortable environment for sleep, Simple Sounds gives you flexible control without unnecessary accounts, advertising, or distractions.
Version 1.1 updates: Quiet Train joins the Mechanical sound collection with soft, soothing train and rail sounds, localized descriptions, and Siri support. This update also adds well-timed opportunities to leave App Store feedback after completed timers and includes reliability improvements.
