Now the game checks first: if the player is still there, you jump straight in; if they have left, it tells you so and offers to let you know the moment someone else is online.

MORE GEMS IN EVERY GAME. Your first five Solo games each day now pay 15 gems instead of 5, and a win pays 35. The Daily Challenge pays 50 for finishing and 50 more for a win, up from 20 and 30. The Snake Palace just got a lot closer. EASY GAMES EARN GEMS TOO. A Solo game with Easy on now pays gems like any other. Achievements and leaderboard places still stay out of games with Easy on, so nobody's record is touched.

In Pass to Play, each player now chooses their own pawn from the ones you have unlocked. Bring the dinosaur to family night. Two players cannot take the same one, and the game remembers who played what for next time. EASY, ONE PLAYER AT A TIME. Playing with someone small? Turn on Easy for their seat alone and their dice roll 5s and 6s far more often, while everyone else rolls fair. Games with Easy on do not earn achievements, leaderboard places or gems, so nobody's record is touched. SKIP THE HAND-OFF. If your table does not need "Pass the phone to..." between turns, switch it off in Settings and play straight through. Plus the usual: bug fixes and a few things that sit better on smaller phones.

Snake and Ladders now speaks French and Spanish! The whole game — menus, achievements, the Daily Challenge, even the notifications — follows your phone's language, or pick one yourself in Settings > Language. It changes straight away, no restart. NOBODY ONLINE? Tell the garden you're waiting. Tap "Tell me when someone's online", pick how long, and close the app — we'll send you a notification the moment a table opens. And if someone is already waiting when you arrive, we'll say so, so you can open a table for them right there. WHICH WAY NOW? Every row of the board now has a signpost arrow showing which way the path runs — handy when the road doubles back and a small player loses the thread. DAILY CHALLENGE — FINISH YOUR RUN. Beaten to the last square? Keep rolling. Your run now plays out to the end so your score reaches the leaderboard, instead of the day being over the moment someone else got there first. Plus the usual: bug fixes and a few things that fit better on smaller phones.

Nineteen achievements to chase. - A new Achievements screen, right next to Leaderboards on the menu. See every achievement, what it takes to earn, and exactly how far along you are. - Every achievement you unlock pays gems, to spend in the Snake Palace on tokens, dice and board themes. - Chase the obvious ones and the sneaky ones: climb 100 ladders, win a game without sliding down a single snake, roll five sixes in one game, or play the Daily Challenge seven days running. - Your progress follows you between iPhone and iPad, and the whole list works whether or not you are signed in to Game Center. - New Daily Challenge leaderboard: everyone on Earth plays the same board each day, and the fewest rolls to finish wins. One try a day - and if you have to leave, your game is saved exactly where you left it.

Better boards, and a dice roll that finally feels like a throw. BOARDS - New board layouts. Snakes and ladders hop between neighbouring rows, never run flat across a row, and the last chute on every board is always a snake - so the run to the finish is never free. - The Medium board plays at a proper pace, with more to land on along the way. - Redrawn board art: chutes start and finish dead centre on their squares, a crisp grid separates every square on every theme, and a little house marks the finish. DICE - A real throw. Flick the die and it tumbles through the air, slows, and lands ON the number it rolled. - Your own roll now stays on screen long enough to read before the pawn sets off. POLISH - A brighter opening gate and a bigger menu wordmark. - Pawns on the top row are no longer hidden behind the top buttons, and zooming all the way out keeps the board centred on screen.
