Your end is their beginning

New: SURVIVAL. One board, three lives, no clock — last as long as you can. And your record now follows your Apple Account to whatever phone you sign in on.
Your endings become their beginnings.
Type a word. The last letters of it are stamped onto a block and
dropped on your opponent's board. To clear it, they have to find a word
that STARTS with those letters — and whatever they play lands back on
you.
That is the whole game. You are not racing a clock or matching tiles.
You are choosing what to leave someone.
TYPE FAST, OR TYPE WELL
Two things make your blocks heavier, and you can chase either one. Keep
firing without pausing and your chain lifts everything you throw. Or
reach for a long word — seven letters and ten letters each hit a step
harder on their own. Break several blocks with a single word and the
combo carries into your next one. Hold a chain of ten and the whole run
cashes out at once.
FOUR WAYS TO PLAY
VERSUS — one on one over Game Center. Quick match with anyone else
searching, or text an invite to any contact. They do not need to be a
Game Center friend.
SOLO — up to three CPU rivals, each with a real personality. Metronome
never breaks its chain: short words, relentless tempo. Berserker never
blocks, only swings, and sometimes drowns itself. Bulwark answers
everything and punches softly. Wordsmith does all of it, quickly.
DAILY — sixty seconds, one board, the same board for everyone. One run
a day, and a streak worth keeping.
PRACTICE — a seven-step lesson that teaches the rule by doing it to
you, then a training board with no opponent, no lives and no end.
BUILT ON A REAL DICTIONARY
Nearly 350,000 valid words. Blocks are stamped from a common-word list,
so what you are asked for is always answerable — you will never be
handed letters nothing begins with. Letter values are Scrabble's,
unchanged, because you already know them.
EARN THE REST
Every match feeds a level, a record and a title. Board themes, block
styles, typing effects and victory flourishes unlock as you play.
Word Wars is free. An optional Premium pack removes the ad break and
adds a few things you cannot earn.
SURVIVAL — a new mode
One board, three lives, no clock. It opens calm and keeps speeding up
until it is not survivable, and your result is how long you lasted.
There is no finish line, only the point where you go under.
YOUR PROGRESS NOW FOLLOWS YOUR APPLE ACCOUNT
Signed in to Game Center, the game keeps a backup of your record in your
own iCloud account. Lose the phone, replace the phone, sign in on the new
one, and your level, your unlocks and your streak are already waiting.
Nothing is sent to us — there is no server of ours for it to go to.
A KEYBOARD BUILT FOR THUMBS
The on-screen keyboard has been redrawn: bigger keys, a header you can
read, and a tap that lands between two letters now goes to the one that
can actually continue the word you are typing. Fewer words lost to a
near miss.
SETTINGS AND MASTERY, REBUILT FOR A PHONE
Both were laid out for a desktop window and sat squashed into the top
half of a phone screen. Rows are now sized for a thumb, the record screen
puts its numbers where you can read them, and the volume sliders can no
longer be set to zero by a tap that missed.
Plus the usual: a dictionary that leans the right way on a boundary, and
a good deal of quiet repair underneath.
