Fill a row and the rake sweeps it away. Clear the whole board and the garden is empty again — that is the whole idea.
An 8x8 board of raked sand. You place stone and moss on it.
Fill a row or a column and a rake sweeps it away, leaving fresh lines in the sand.
An empty board is not the end of the game. It is what the game is for.
— A mark in ink appears when you clear more than one line at once. Clear the whole board and the garden is empty again.
— Every clear is felt as well as heard. The rake runs under your finger, not as a single buzz but as grain after grain.
— One puzzle each day, the same one for every player, with a streak to keep.
— Your garden grows as you play. A stone lantern, a pine, a bridge, a koi.
— Out of moves? A stepping stone can save you, if there is a place where it actually helps. It is never offered where it would not.
