Bytefall goes through your photo library and shows you what is taking up the space — with the real number, measured, after the scan. Nothing is claimed before it has been counted. WHAT IT FINDS • Exact duplicates — byte-for-byte identical copies of the same file • Similar shots — the burst of eight where you only wanted one • Screenshots — with a choice of how old: 7, 15, 30, 60 or 90 days, or all of them • Photos saved from other apps — messages, downloads, anything that did not come from your camera • Large videos — the handful of files that quietly hold most of your storage • Out-of-focus photos — optional, and off until you turn it on Every category shows how many items and how many megabytes before you decide anything. THREE WAYS TO REVIEW • Quick Sweep — one screen, the safe categories, one decision • Sets — duplicates and similar shots arrive as a group, with one kept and the rest marked • Swipe or grid — one photo at a time, or many at once with checkboxes Everything you mark goes to a basket first. Nothing is deleted until you confirm, and the basket survives closing the app, so a review of eighty sets does not have to be finished in one sitting. WHAT IT WILL NOT TOUCH Favourites, anything from the last seven days, photos in shared albums, photos you have edited, and any source you exclude are left alone. The suggested keeper in a set is a suggestion, not a verdict — you can move it. HONEST NUMBERS Storage Truth shows the free space you have now and the free space you will have afterwards, read from the device. Categories overlap — the same photo can be a duplicate and a large file at once — so the headline figure counts each photo once. An app that finds "9 GB" and frees 4 GB is doing arithmetic in its own favour. On iPhone, deleted items move to Recently Deleted and hold their space for thirty days, so the figure arrives when that album is emptied. Bytefall says so on that screen, before you confirm, rather than showing a number the phone will not honour yet. And if iCloud Photos is on, a deletion here reaches every device signed in to the same account. WHY BYTEFALL ASKS FOR ACCESS TO YOUR WHOLE LIBRARY Finding a duplicate means comparing every photo against every other photo. A picker that returns a handful of hand-picked files cannot answer the question the app exists to answer — you would have to already know which photos are duplicates in order to select them. Access is used for that comparison and nothing else. YOUR PHOTOS STAY ON YOUR PHONE No account. No sign-in. Your photos are read, compared and deleted entirely on the device. They are never uploaded — there is no server behind this app to upload them to. The app is free and shows one full-screen ad when a scan finishes — at the seam between the work and the result, never over the grid, the swipe deck or the basket, where a stray tap would cost a photograph. A single purchase removes it for good. Designer 2 j.d.o.o.
