No dialogue options. Every hostage taker is written live by an AI and answers what you actually typed, not the nearest choice on a list. Fifteen calls. One keyboard.
You are a crisis negotiator on the night shift for Harbor City PD.
A line opens. On the other end is someone holding a room full of people and running out of reasons not to use them. There is no tactical option, no dossier, no second attempt. There is a keyboard, and however many messages they will let you send.
THE WORDS ARE YOURS
There are no dialogue options. Every subject in Crisis Line is written live by an AI language model with a psychology of their own, and they answer what you actually typed, not the nearest matching choice on a list. Say the wrong thing and they will tell you so.
EVERYONE HAS A LEVER. EVERYONE HAS AN ALLERGY.
Two meters decide a call. Trust is how close they will let you get. Tension is how close their hands are to something nobody can take back.
Being kind keeps them talking, and on its own it will never be enough. Each subject has exactly one thing that genuinely reaches them: a promise made concrete instead of warm, a silence you refuse to fill, a lie owned out loud before you are caught in it. Finding it is the game.
They also have something that backfires every time. Sympathy, to a man who has had a whole day of it. Strategy talk, to someone performing for a phone camera. Use it and tension climbs, whatever you meant by it.
THE SCENE CAN TURN
Once a call, without warning, the situation becomes a different one. A hostage runs. An outside voice gets in their ear. Command moves without telling you. The clock extends, and what was working a minute ago may not any more.
There are only two ways to lose: tension reaching ninety-five, or running out of exchanges. Stalling is never free, and neither is a wasted sentence.
FIFTEEN CASES, THREE ACTS, ONE AUTHOR
A pharmacy robbery that was never about money. A chemist holding the executive who buried her evidence, who detects a lie like a mass spectrometer. Two brothers, only one of whom can end it. A man in a concert hall who can name every technique in your training.
Somewhere in the middle of it you understand that the incidents have an author. Someone calling himself the Conductor has been arranging every one of them, listening to your calls, and auditioning you.
Every case opens on the same trust, the same tension and the same number of exchanges. Nothing about the fifteenth call is harder than the first. What changes is who picks up.
WHAT IS IN IT
- Fifteen hand-written cases across three acts, each with its own scene and palette
- Subjects who remember what you told them, and test it later in the call
- Hidden inner thoughts, kept from you during the call and read back in the debrief
- Three difficulty settings, switchable at any time
- A skip ahead option, for a case you would rather not beat twice

CRISIS LINE IS A GAME, NOT A CRISIS SERVICE
Everyone you speak to is fictional. Nothing you type reaches an emergency service, a counsellor, or any other human being. If you or someone else is in real danger or distress, please contact your local emergency number. In the United States, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline answers 24 hours a day: call or text 988.
Crisis Line depicts hostage situations, violence and psychological distress, including references to suicide and self-harm.
An internet connection is required, because the characters are written on demand.
