Your saves can follow you between your own devices now. Turn it on and Laytr keeps your library the same on your iPhone and your iPad: the same saves, the same cases and tags, the same things you put away or deleted. It travels through your own iCloud account. There is still no Laytr account, no Laytr server, and nowhere for us to read any of it. Nothing moves until you say so. Laytr asks once, in plain words, and if you say not now, everything stays exactly as local as it has always been. You can change the answer in Settings later, in either direction, and turning it off never takes anything off a device. Syncing is the one thing Premium unlocks. If you never turn it on, this update changes nothing about how Laytr behaves.

Laytr is a real iPad app now. It turns with the device and uses the whole screen instead of sitting in a phone-shaped window. At full width the list stands beside whatever you have open, so you can read one save and pick the next without going back, and your cases and tags moved into the sidebar. Links from TikTok, Spotify, Apple Music, Pinterest and X now arrive with their title, who made them, and a picture, instead of just a web address. Tall videos and screenshots are shown whole. A TikTok used to be cropped to a strip from its middle — the part with neither the face nor the caption on it.

Cases got most of the work. You can start one from the share sheet, a case shows what you filed into it, and you can now delete one. Deleting a case only removes the folder; every save inside stays in your Library. Tags, chips, the tabs on Library and Search, and the buttons on a save that just came back were all too small to hit reliably. They are bigger now, and everything you press answers you while you hold it. Settings → Display has light and dark. Laytr followed iOS before and still can, if you'd rather it didn't. Two new intents, Do and File, for things you save to deal with rather than to read. A user asked for both by name. With usage analytics switched off, the app was still sending one kind of tap event. Not anymore. Also: Patron is called Laytr Premium, "Pick a day" no longer shows a date nobody picked, a wide article picture stops pushing the Now screen sideways, and more of the app holds up at large text sizes.

Fixed a bug where the app could freeze for a few seconds when you opened it. Opening is quick again. That's the whole update. If anything else seems off, email support@laytr.app and I'll sort it out.

Everything here came from people using the app. Timeline has a real calendar. Tap the month and it opens into a full month grid — page between months, and tap any day to jump to what returns then. Every day answers a tap now; a day with nothing scheduled says so instead of sending you somewhere random. Now shows more of what is next: the next return, and the three after it, so one screen tells you what needs you and what is coming. Less repetition everywhere. A save used to state the same time three or four times on one screen. Each fact is printed once now, and the line under a title is short enough to read at any text size. Getting started is illustrated. The guide that ships with the app now has pictures for the share sheet, return times, the four tabs, and offline reading. It reads offline and can never fail to load. Opening it from Settings → Help works now — that row did nothing before. Saving got a real calendar too. The share sheet offers Pick a day for any date and time, and Decide later for when you would rather not choose yet. Choosing Someday puts a save on the Someday shelf. The Set return button no longer hides below the fold when the calendar opens. Diagnostics now start switched on. The two switches under Settings → Privacy — anonymous usage and crash reports — are on by default, and you can turn either one off whenever you like. They carry counts and outcomes only: never your saves, titles, links, notes, tags or searches. Laytr still has no account, no server, no ads, and does no tracking of any kind.
