New effects • 13 new blocks: – freeze and rhythm: Freeze, Slicer, Swell; – dynamics: Transient, Multiband; – voice: Vocal, Vocoder, Doubler; – synth and sound: 12-string, Synth, Lo-fi; – reverbs: Gated and Reverse. • Two graphic equalizers. • Drive: the circuits are split into four families, each with its own look, and five new ones join them. • Delay: a second tap, reverse, modulation, filters in the feedback loop and ducking. • Phaser gains a Vibe mode. Compressor gets knee, mix and a detector filter. Pitch gets a pedal mode and the Voice engine with a formant knob: a voice shifted an octave up or down keeps its vowels. • Harmonizer: up to four formant-preserving voices, a choir, and the key picked from a list. Autotune holds the note and keeps your vibrato. • Shimmer in Cloud: a fifth up, an octave and a fifth up, and an octave down. • Every block has its own presets. A looper rebuilt for the stage • New cells: a ring with the waveform and buttons in the corners (mute, solo, undo, play). Each cell stops and starts on its own and comes back in time. • Loops up to 64 bars. The other loops are multiples of the first (×¼…×8) and stay in time even with no tempo set. • Undo by layer: each press removes one layer, and the last press deletes the take itself. • Reverse, speed from ½ to ×8, transpose ±12, follow tempo, fades, overdub decay, multiply and bounce. • Volume and transpose: hold the button and slide your finger. • A chain of its own for recording each loop: pick a rig preset or a scene. You can hand the rig to a single loop. • Loop library: save, preview, import and export, load into any cell, send to the sampler and back. 27 factory drum grooves: rock, metal, grunge, post-punk, neo-soul and more. A MIDI loop locks into time with the loops already playing and brings its own kit. • Loops survive an app restart and a sample rate change. • Echo cancelling in the looper's gear menu: loops coming out of the speaker stay out of the new take. • One button to swap the playing loops for the stopped ones with a smooth crossfade (MIDI loops too), or to set the speed of every loop. Play starts from the top or from where it stopped, your choice. Song automation Record presets, scenes, knobs, morph, faders, pads and the looper into a setlist song. It all plays back along with the backing track. Points can be added and edited, and the lane's events show as a list. The pads on Perform light up with what is playing. Markers are no longer needed. Stage and setlists • A pad has its own scenes and its own menu: replace the sound, save the current rig into it, clear it. • Drag a preset straight onto a song's pad. Reorder the song editor by dragging. Sampler • A new look in the looper's style. Pads light up with their own level. • An acoustic kit made from real drums: SM Drums by Scott McLean. Capture • The standard NAM reference signal: send one file, the recording, to TONE3000 or any NAM trainer. • The level check tells you what is wrong. Plug-in on iPhone and iPad The Audio Unit looks and works like the app: chains, editors, presets, library and a shared MIDI map. MIDI • MIDI clock in and out: tempo from a drum machine or a DAW, start on the downbeat. • MIDI learn on every button and every looper parameter. A Four-Switch Loop Deck layout comes ready. • A sound learned by a trigger fires the pads and the looper with no delay. Also • Every volume goes up to +12 dB. • The theme editor sets the corner radius, and the light Concrete theme is warmer. • Feedback guard works in the background too. • Lots of fixes.

Loops as files: a loop track exports its take as a WAV — every track at once, too, each starting on the same downbeat — and an audio file loads into a track and plays, bringing its tempo from its name or its length. A loop can now be as long as you play it. With a set live, MIDI program n presses stage button n, as the screen numbers them, and picking a song plays its first sound. The Perform transport key pauses instead of stopping, so play picks up where it left off. A new light theme, Concrete, a shade down from paper, is the light default; Desk and Linen stay. The octaver holds a note on the high strings, the tuner no longer reads a guitar an octave low, and triggers trained on a sound answer sooner. The auto looper no longer starts a take from the loop it is playing back, and how loud a note must be to start one is a slider in Settings. Switching to a scene that bypasses a block no longer clicks. The Perform tab gives half its screen to big buttons: the live song's presets and scenes, or the rig's four scenes when no set is live — four or eight, your choice. They switch the moment you touch them, and in full screen they bring the song transport along: play and stop, previous and next song. Presets live in banks now: the factory bank and three user banks of 128, picked from the menu or with MIDI Bank Select (CC0). Saving asks for the bank, the program number, categories and tags, and the preset strip and the manager search and filter by category. On a wide screen the presets sit under the graph. Leaving a set always hands back the looper, the rig and the pads as they were before it. Switching presets no longer waits for the capture to be parsed, and the quick tour walks every tab. Undo and redo. One edit is one step — a knob you swept, a block you dragged, a preset you loaded — and a step covers the rig and the mixer together: a hundred of them back, from the buttons in the header. TONE3000: the star lives on your account now, so a tone starred here is starred on the site and on every device you sign in from. A tone that has been taken down no longer turns quietly into something else — the block says it is gone and offers to pick a replacement. The catalog opens the way the site means it to: a way out of it, a listen before you load, and your language where the site has one. Signing out really signs out, so the next sign-in can be another account. Also: an impulse response that some tools export without its padding byte now loads instead of being refused.

Looper: the first loop is measured from your playing. Its length comes from every hit and from the audio itself, so a riff played three times is three bars, and an auto take closes where the phrase ends — in beats of the tempo it just read — and comes in on the beat instead of two seconds later. The closing quiet is set in beats. Latency: every block is now measured against what it reports. Denoise is 4 ms instead of 8, the poly pitch shifter 43 ms instead of 75, and Autotune, Harmonizer and the mono shifter lost 13 ms of hidden delay. A hosted Audio Unit's own latency is counted, so parallel branches wait for it and a host is told the total. IR Reverb shapes its space: stretch, decay, attack, early reflections, low and high cut, width. Dragging a blend point no longer crackles, and the tail fades out. Also: Sleep after silence (Settings) sets how long the DSP waits before idling, so the first note after a pause is never late; a capture fed a stereo signal runs two amps; a backing track no longer buzzes in a host with a 96-frame block; block icons in the menus follow the text colour.

Capture: make a NAM profile of your own amp, pedal or rig with nothing but an audio interface. The signal goes out, comes back, the take is checked, and the model trains right on the device: on the graphics chip where there is one, on every core otherwise. Pick several model sizes and they train into a single slimmable file; the take is kept, so more sizes can be added later from the library, and a capture can carry a picture of its own. The marker gets through a fuzz, a self-oscillating pedal is named in the report. Ensemble: a new block. One guitar heard as several players across the panorama, with an exact mono sum and no pitch wobble; Dual mono sends two groups of voices into two rigs. Looper: Settings gain the silence that closes an auto-loop and keeping time through it, so the loop comes in where it would be. A saved MIDI cell keeps the grid it was played to. Also: every harmony chip plays the interval it names, Share engine log sends a full report, VoiceOver names every knob, switch, chip and fader, and a preset that fails to save says so.
