Padometer: Walking Pad
Walking pad steps, no phone
Only for Watch
Free
Apple Watch
Runs on the watch alone - no iPhone in your pocket, no account, no tracking. Counts your steps exactly where every ordinary step counter gives up.
If you walk on a walking pad under your desk, you know the problem: the watch barely counts a thing. Wrist-based step counting lives off arm swing - and that disappears the moment your hands rest on the desk or grip the handlebar.
Padometer takes a different route. It reads the Apple Watch motion sensors across several channels and picks up your gait from the vibration that each step sends through your body and the desk. No arm swing needed.
TUNED TO YOUR SETUP
Every desk resonates differently. A solid wooden table transmits less than a thin panel, a springy stride less than a firm one. So Padometer gives you three sensitivity levels:
- Strict - for soft tables, or when too much gets counted
- Balanced - the starting point for most setups
- Sensitive - for stiff tables or a light stride
A live signal display during the session shows which channel is currently responding. Within a few minutes you will find the level that matches your desk.
CLEAN IN HEALTH
Every session runs as a real workout. Padometer writes steps, distance and the session itself to Health, and reads heart rate and active calories. Set your stride length so the distance comes out right.
AT THE END OF A SESSION
A summary with steps, distance, duration, calories and average cadence. Plus a daily goal you set yourself.
RUNS ON ITS OWN
Padometer is a pure Apple Watch app. No iPhone needed, no sign-up, no account - which matters at a desk, where the phone is lying on the table rather than in a pocket.
YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU
Padometer sends nothing. There are no servers, no analytics, no tracking. Everything stays on the watch and in Health.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Pulse or calories as the second reading on the session screen - you pick which one. Heart rate also lands in the summary and in the saved workout.
The support entries now show a QR code instead of a link. Point your camera at it and the page opens on your iPhone.
Padometer now runs on Apple Watch Series 4 and later.
