• BALL is new: a snake of glass balls that winds through space, rising and falling with the music and reflected in a glossy floor. • VOX is new: a glass ball for every channel that jumps on each note, squashes as it lands and lights a ring on the floor, with the channel number on the ball. Modules with many channels get two rows. • BALL and VOX now move smoothly, without the small jolt they gave on every note.

• Smoother visualisers. Every effect now moves in step with the display itself, so motion that used to stutter slightly flows evenly from frame to frame. • FLOW now draws its whole stage on the graphics chip, so the dancing is smoother and the processor has much less to do. • The VU, S-VU, SPEC and ANLG meters, the BALL and VOX balls and the pattern view's channel bars now update with every frame instead of twenty times a second, so they rise and fall smoothly rather than in steps. • The VU meters now behave like real ones: they show the average level and move with the weight of a real needle, instead of sitting at the top on loud modern recordings. • iPhone Duo, closed: the song title and clock move up beside the camera, and the cassette button turns the outer display into a walkman with a spinning tape, a large clock and big buttons. • iPhone Duo as a book: tap PAT on the left page to swap the playlist for the pattern view, with the visualiser on the right. • iPhone Duo as a boombox: the preset buttons work like a radio's. Touch and hold one to store the effect you're watching on it. • The visualisers follow the hinge: fold iPhone Duo and DIVE dives towards the fold, and FLOW's camera looks down onto the stage. • Anodized keeps its MONO, REPEAT and SHUFFLE buttons on iPhone Duo, and on its side the outer display puts the title and clock beside the camera.

• Anodized: a new skin made from the brushed metal behind the VU meters and speakers, with corner screws and an engraved title. In dark it's black anodised aluminium; in light a cool grey, and the VU and speaker panels turn light with it. • DIVE: a new visualiser — a dive down an endless tunnel whose rings of light pulse with the music. • Ready for iPhone Duo. Open it and you get the full rack on the large display, close it and the player moves to the outer display without missing a beat. • Fold iPhone Duo halfway and stand it on the table, and Clemons becomes a boombox: the effect fills the top half like a screen, with the controls and eight preset buttons for the effects below the fold. • Hold iPhone Duo like a book, and the player and playlist sit on the left page with the effect at full height on the right.

• FLOW: a new visualiser — a chrome robot that dances to the music on a glossy stage, with steps that land on the beat, a camera that changes angle when the song changes section, and spotlights in shifting colours. • DIVA+: a new Synth Diva in glossy white, and she plays guitar or drums as well as synth Touch and hold the effect to switch instrument. • The Synth Diva follows the song: calm in a quiet verse, headbanging when the chorus hits, and she stamps her heel where the kick drum lands. • New VU meters: two backlit meters set in a brushed metal panel, with a peak lamp that lights up in the red. • SPKR: a new visualiser with two bass speakers in the same metal panel, their cones moving with the bass in each channel. • The effects now move with what you hear, not what's about to play. On AirPods and other Bluetooth headphones they no longer run ahead of the music. • Every effect has been rebuilt to draw on the graphics chip. They look the same but use far less power, so the battery lasts longer while they play. • Fullscreen opens on the effect you're looking at, and brings back the one you switched to. • Skipping ahead in SNDH, SID, SAP, YM and Quartet songs no longer freezes the screen, and long jumps land where you aimed. Repeat One now works for SAP and Quartet songs. • Long audio files open no matter their length, and use far less memory. • Modules move on to the next song when they end, instead of looping forever. • Large playlists no longer show LOAD ERROR after many songs, and pressing Play after removing the playing song starts the list instead of the old song. • Unplugging headphones pauses, and a phone call no longer resumes music you had paused.

• Light Show: four new visualisers in flowing light and colour — Ink in Water, Electric Storm, Nebula and Neon Vortex. They fill the screen in fullscreen like the rest. • The effect menu is grouped: PAT, Classics, Meters, Light Show and DIVA. • Saving a playlist under a name that's already taken works again. The app now asks before replacing it, instead of failing with an error on iPhone. • EQ presets: saving under a name that's already taken asks before replacing it, renaming onto another preset's name asks first, and Save as Preset suggests the preset you last used, so a tweaked curve is easy to update. • Playlists are saved in the app's own folder in Files, or in the folder you choose under Playlists Folder in the gear menu. • Stop or pause, and the effects settle back to rest instead of freezing mid-motion: needles fall, balls land and the waveform flattens out.

• New Brushed Metal skin: one sheet of classic brushed aluminium with the panels set flush in it, soft grey buttons and the classic orb window buttons. Switch in the gear menu. It replaces the Liquid skin. • Tap the clock to switch between elapsed time and time remaining. The choice is remembered. • The clock and the progress bar move smoothly instead of stepping. • Studio Rack in dark mode: the bright line along the top edge is gone.

Nine visualisers for every format and all of them also available in full screen: • DIVA — the Synthdiva, a dancer who tracks the tempo and keeps the beat. • TUN — the dot tunnel, rebuilt: denser, and steered gently by the bass, mids and treble. • S-VU — a retro stereo LED VU in dBFS with peak hold, replacing the old LED meter. • VU, BALL, VOX, SPEC and ANLG now work for tracker modules, chip music and audio files alike. • New FX button in the bottom bar: shows the effect that's on, click for the next, right-click (touch and hold) for a menu of all of them. • The pattern view scrolls more smoothly, and every effect runs at the display's full frame rate. • Mac: smoother window dragging. Liquid's display grows with the window. • iPad: the Liquid playlist is drawn on glass. iPhone: swipe down for the next full-screen fx, up for the previous.
