Wrong answers no longer differ by the number alone. In "how is this read" questions some of them used a different number than the one on screen, so you could rule them out by reading the digit — without knowing what the counter does to it. Wrong choices now keep the number and change the counter, which is the thing being asked about. The progress bar reaches the end on the last question. At "7 / 7" it sat exactly where it sat at 6 of 7, because the counter showed the question you were on while the bar showed the ones behind you. Reduce Motion is respected. Revealing readings and expanding sections animated regardless of the system setting; with the setting on, the change now happens at once. VoiceOver says what the sister app card and the session button will do, not only what they are.

A counter introduces itself with two sentences, not one. 本 shown only next to a bottle teaches that 本 counts bottles; it counts a shape, and that shows once the umbrella stands beside the beer. In "which counter" questions the number and the gap after it are marked in the sentence. Nothing is given away — the counter is not in the sentence at all. VoiceOver no longer reads the answer aloud. On "how is this read" the screen deliberately showed 三本 without its reading, but the screen reader was handed the same characters in Japanese, and a Japanese voice pronounces them さんぼん. On "what does this mean" the correct tile was announced with the very reading the question asked about. "Only weak spots" now stands with the other ways to practice, instead of only inside the section that measures them. Answer tiles are the same height, and "set aside" no longer reads as "not practiced". Average answer time uses a decimal comma in Polish.

Numbers across counters — a new screen in the counters tab. Pick a number and every counter lines up under it: 六本 ろっぽん, 六冊 ろくさつ, 六階 ろっかい. Sound changes come first, regular ones below. Until now, seeing that pattern meant visiting three pages and remembering one line from each. The study day starts at the hour you picked on the night the clocks change too — it used to shift by an hour.

The readings button is where you read. Turning furigana on and off had a button written for it that stood on no screen at all — the setting lived in Settings, three taps away from the sentence you were looking at. The button is now where the Japanese is: on the question, on the answer and on a counter's page. Kanji are set in a Japanese typeface. On a phone whose language is not Japanese, the system was falling back to a Chinese typeface for kanji, and some characters are shaped differently there. Every Japanese line now says which language it is, so the shapes are the ones you are learning. A session shows how far along it is. The progress bar sat in the title bar and was 140 points wide — across twenty-five questions that is a step you cannot see. It now runs the full width and tells VoiceOver which question you are on. The answer cards stand on their own background, so in the light theme they are no longer white on white. The icon carries what is left for today. The number is how much of today's goal is still waiting, and it clears itself the moment you finish. If badges are switched off for this app in system settings, Settings now says so — the system asks for permission once and never again, so there was no way to find out why the number never appeared. Restore purchases, the privacy policy and the terms sat on the purchase screen as bare lines, while the same three rows in Settings had their icons. They are one set now. The Today screen stays quick as history grows. Opening the app read the whole answer history every time, so it got slower with every week of practice. It now reads what today needs and nothing more.

A grayed-out button says why it is grayed out. Both buttons in today's section went gray without explaining themselves, and they go gray for three different reasons: the daily inflow set to zero, today's inflow used up, or nothing left to introduce at all. Each now carries a short reason on the same line. The day bar no longer spins when the inflow is set to zero, either — there is nothing to wait for, so it stands still. Today's new counters close the day, and nothing else does. Until now closing it also required an empty review schedule, so a single review falling due in the evening held the day open when there was nothing left to close it with. Reviews have their own marker and their own path. Opening a counter from the list and practicing it there went over the daily inflow without a word. It now asks — once, with the number — and goes ahead only after you confirm. The same holds for a level above the one you are working through: the button does not go gray, it warns and asks. A review day has an end to it. Reviews arrived without a ceiling, so a day that fell due all at once could ask for a hundred questions with no way to tell it from a normal one. Each counter now gets at most two questions while you are learning it and one once it has settled, and what is left over waits for tomorrow instead of piling onto today. The number on "New counters" is what remains of today's inflow, not the length of the session. Once it is used up the button goes gray and says so, instead of quietly adding counters beyond what you set. Wording checked against the rest of the family. Sixteen strings went through review this release, and the ones that had drifted came back into line: the confirm button on the inflow dialogue now reads the same as in the two sister apps that have the same dialogue, and the hint beside the warning triangle asks a question in both languages rather than stating one in English and asking in Polish.
