THE QURAN
The complete Uthmani text from the Tanzil Project, with six English translations to choose from: Saheeh International, Hilali & Khan, Rowwad, Talal Itani, Pickthall, and Yusuf Ali. Optional tajweed colouring shows where letters stretch, merge, and stop, and every verse closes with its number set inside the mushaf's own mark. Arabic text size is adjustable.
PRAYER TIMES
The five prayers wherever you are, worked out on your device. Choose the method your community follows, including Ja'fari with either the Tehran or the Leva Institute (Qom) angles, and set the Hanafi or the standard Asr. Pick a different sound for each prayer: four adhans, a short chime, or a silent notification for the ones you would rather not be woken by.
SEARCH AND BOOKMARKS
Search in Arabic or in English, or jump straight to a reference like 2:255. Save any verse. The app remembers where you stopped reading.
QIBLA
The direction of the Kaaba from wherever you are, worked out from true north rather than magnetic north, which is off by as much as twenty degrees across populated latitudes. Your location never leaves your phone.
LESSONS AND SERIES
Project IUoC's library, inside the app: lecture-style deep dives, short reminders and animations, grouped into series like the Seerah, the 99 Names, Intro to Islam and Tajweed. Turn on alerts to hear when something new is posted.
A QUESTION EACH DAY
One question a day, the same one for everyone. Answer wrong and it explains why rather than marking you down, so a miss teaches you something. A counter tracks the days you have played and never resets.
HIJRI CALENDAR
Today's date on the Umm al-Qura calendar, with a month grid carrying both calendars in every cell. If your community begins the month a day earlier or later, set an offset to match.
WIDGETS
A verse each morning on your home screen in English, in Arabic, or in both, plus the Hijri date. All five prayer times on your home screen, and the next prayer on your lock screen.
IT WORKS OFFLINE
Everything ships inside the app. Reading, search, prayer times, the qibla and the calendar all work in airplane mode. There is no account to create and no server to reach. Bookmarks and settings can be backed up to your own iCloud if you want them, and that backup goes to your account rather than to us.
