MX Player is a fast, focused local media player for people who manage their own video and audio files. Import media directly from Photos or the Files app and enjoy it offline. There are no ads, no account, and no recommendation algorithm deciding what you watch next. FAMILIAR, FOCUSED PLAYBACK • Double-tap to seek or play and pause • Swipe to scrub through a video • Drag to adjust brightness and volume • Pinch to zoom, then drag to inspect any part of the frame • Lock the player controls to prevent accidental touches • Adjust playback speed and choose Fit, Fill, or Original aspect ratio • Continue listening with background audio • Watch while using other apps with Picture in Picture on supported devices SUBTITLES & AUDIO • Import external SRT and VTT subtitle files • Use compatible subtitle tracks embedded in a video • Adjust subtitle size, position, and synchronization delay • Translate imported subtitles on supported devices with iOS 18 or later • Switch between compatible embedded audio tracks • Extract a video's audio track for separate playback BUILT FOR YOUR LIBRARY • Continue Watching resumes from where you stopped • Favorites keep important media close at hand • Playlists organize videos your way • Search an information-dense local library without an internet connection Your imported media, thumbnails, subtitles, and playback history stay on your device. MX Player does not require sign-in and does not operate an analytics or media-upload backend. Playback compatibility depends on the media frameworks and codecs available on iOS. For the most reliable results, use H.264 or HEVC video with AAC audio in MP4, MOV, or M4V containers. MKV and WebM are not currently supported.
