One afternoon now, so nobody spends a year working out where everything was. Read a finished one before you buy anything: nestbound.app/example If you weren't here tomorrow, somebody would have to work out where everything is. They'd be looking for policy numbers, guessing at passwords, calling the bank to ask whether you had an account there. Usually it's the person grieving hardest. If it's a stroke rather than a funeral, it's the one sitting by your bed with a folder in her lap. Nestbound is one afternoon of questions now, so they're not left guessing then: where the papers are, who to call, which bank, what the dog eats. You don't have to know what matters. That's why most of these never get filled in: the binder bought with good intentions, still empty in a closet. Nestbound asks you. Twelve parts of an ordinary life, a few questions at a time, in whatever order suits you. The bank and the insurance. What comes in every month, and from where. The house and the keys. The Medicare card and the prescriptions. The safe deposit box nobody can find. Who to call first, and what happens to the pets. When a question isn't obvious, it tells you why it's asking. Skip anything. Stop whenever you like, and it remembers where you were. A finished one comes with it, so you're never looking at a blank page. For one person, or for two. Fill it in for yourself, or sit down with a parent, or anyone you love, and do it together. The questions are worded differently for that conversation. There's a page you can print of ways to start one, and a plan for what to cover in a single visit. It's the conversation most families keep meaning to have. Then it's finished. You print it, put it on a shelf, and tell one person where it is. What you wanted is in there in your own words, so nobody has to decide it for you. Somebody can pick it up and follow it, starting with what to do in the first two weeks. And you get to stop thinking about it. Your papers can go in too. Photograph the insurance card with the phone in your pocket, and bring it in when you're back at the Mac. Nestbound reads what's on the page and offers you the name, the date, the phone number it found. Nothing goes in until you say so. It stays in your house. Your bank, your medications, your daughter's phone number. None of it goes anywhere. No account to make, no website holding it, nothing quietly syncing in the background. It's a file on your Mac, the way a folder in a drawer is a folder in a drawer. You can put a passphrase on it too, if you'd rather it was locked. Read one before you buy. There's a finished example binder at nestbound.app/example One payment, once. Not a subscription you're still paying for in ten years, and not an empty binder you fill in by hand.
