iPhone
MarNar Tripper plans electric car road trips: tell it where you're going and how
much battery you're leaving with, and it builds the route with the charging
stops you'll need.
HOW IT WORKS
Pick your vehicle, your starting point and your destination, and how charged you
are when you set off. The app works out the route, checks whether you'll make
it, and if you won't make it in one go, it plans the stops: which charger to
stop at, how much to charge at each one, and how much battery you'll have left
at every point along the way.
STOPS WORTH MAKING
Not all stops are equal. You can give the app a time budget, and it spends that
time finding more dependable stops: ones with a backup charger nearby in case of
a failure, with several free plugs, and close to food or restrooms — spaced like
a natural driving break. Prefer the fastest plan and nothing else? Set the
budget to zero.
BUILT ON REAL CAR DATA
Set the minimum battery you want to arrive with, and the app holds that reserve
across the whole trip. It accounts for charging past 80% being slower, so the
plan doesn't leave you waiting longer than you need to.
AND IF IT CAN'T BE DONE, IT SAYS SO
When a trip isn't possible with the chargers it knows about, the app tells you
plainly and explains why, instead of handing you a plan that doesn't work.
THEN GO DRIVE
The finished trip opens in Apple Maps or Google Maps with the stops already
loaded. MarNar Tripper does the planning; turn-by-turn navigation stays with the
maps app you already use.
