Naia: Ukraine News Explained

One daily digest, in Ukrainian

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Naia is a daily news digest in Ukrainian. One issue a day: 10–15 top stories from Ukraine and the world, each a half-minute read. WHAT'S INSIDE • Eight sections: Ukrainian and world politics, economics, science, technology and AI, culture, design, UI/UX. • The gist in brief — and, separately, why it matters and what follows from it. • The source and a link to the original on every card, one tap away. STORIES, NOT ISOLATED HEADLINES Every item belongs to a story that runs for days or weeks. Under each card is its timeline: what came before and how the story developed. Older items gain new entries as the story moves on. SIDES OF THE STORY Who takes part in a story, what each side stands to gain, what it risks or where it stays silent — and the primary sources: statements, documents and posts from the parties themselves. KNOW WHO IS WRITING A source passport on every card: what kind of outlet it is, who pays for it, where it is edited and whether a paywall is waiting. PICK YOUR MOOD Some days carry too much heavy news. The mood filter keeps only the calm stories or drops the heaviest ones, and brings everything back in one move. HOW IT WORKS Every night Naia reads more than thirty publications — from Ukrainska Pravda, Suspilne and Babel to Bloomberg, Nature, The Guardian and MIT Technology Review — picks what matters and retells it in Ukrainian. The selection, the summary and the analysis are produced by AI; a separate step checks every claim against its source and proofreads the language. ONE NOTIFICATION A DAY Turn on a reminder for the new issue and pick the hour yourself. One notification a day, never more. SHARE A CARD Send a story as an image to Instagram Stories, save it to Photos or share it through any messenger. NO FEED, NO ACCOUNT No infinite scroll, no ads, no recommendations, no sign-up. An issue has a beginning and an end. Light and dark appearance follow your iPhone. PRIVACY The app collects nothing about you. If you turn notifications on, all that is stored is an anonymous device code and the hour you chose. No tracking, no advertising. Naia is free.

A new first launch and more stories every day. Your first look at Naia now comes alive: signals from the sources flow as a fountain of light into a single point. Press and hold the Read button to draw the fountain back, then let go and it fires a beam into today's issue. The move to the news is now smoother. On iPhone with iOS 26 the Read button is now made of real Liquid Glass. Want to see the introduction again? Settings now has a Show onboarding button. Each issue now carries 20 stories instead of 16, drawn from a wider range of outlets. New sources include Kyiv Independent, Dzerkalo Tyzhnia, Radio Svoboda, Al Jazeera, Foreign Policy, 404 Media, AIN.UA, Khmarochos, designboom, Hyperallergic, The Art Newspaper and Literary Hub. A single outlet now appears less often several days in a row.
