HAZARI LIVE - THE BENGALI 1000 POINTS CARD GAME
Hazari is the Bengali 13 card game for four players, also written as Hajari and known as the 1000 points card game. Each player arranges 13 cards into four ordered groups, reveals them across four comparisons and adds captured cards to the score. Hazari rewards a plan for the whole hand, not only one strong meld.
ARRANGE 13 CARDS INTO 3-3-3-4
Hazari uses a 52-card deck, dealt counter-clockwise until each player holds 13 cards. Arrange groups of 3, 3, 3 and 4 cards. Group 1 must be strongest, followed by Groups 2 and 3, while Group 4 is weakest. Lock the arrangement with Up when the order is ready.
Group 4 contains four cards, but Hazari automatically evaluates its highest-ranking valid three-card combination. The spare card still adds score if the group wins. You cannot select a weaker result, so the full 3-3-3-4 order must remain valid.
REVEAL AND COMPARE FOUR GROUPS
After all players lock their hands, Hazari reveals Group 1, then Groups 2, 3 and 4. The winner collects every card shown in that round and leads the next one. The same meld order, rank checks and exact-tie rule apply throughout the hand.
MELD ORDER - STRONG TO WEAK
- Troy - three cards of the same rank
- Colour Run - three consecutive cards in the same suit
- Run - three consecutive cards that are not all in the same suit
- Colour - three cards in the same suit that are not consecutive
- Pair - a matching pair plus a third card as the kicker
- Indi - a three-card combination outside the five categories above
A higher category always defeats a lower one. Within the same category, Hazari compares the relevant ranks: the Troy rank, the sequence, all three Colour or Indi cards, or the Pair followed by its kicker.
RUNS, SUITS AND EXACT TIES
A-K-Q is the highest Run or Colour Run. A-2-3 is second-highest, above K-Q-J, and sequences never wrap around. Suits have no ranking and never break a tie. If two revealed groups remain equal after every valid rank check, the player who reveals later wins that comparison.
SCORE THE CARDS, RACE TO 1000
Scoring comes from captured cards. A, K, Q, J and 10 are worth 10 each; cards 9 through 2 are worth 5. Every card is used, so the four players share exactly 360 points after a completed hand. The scoreboard and four-position ranking show the race.
Scores carry across hands. When one or more players reach at least 1000, the highest total wins. If the leading totals are equal, the player who reached the target first takes the match. Hazari LIVE also enables the 3 Troy finish: take the first three reveals with Troy to win immediately.
