Rickety Kate — known internationally as Hearts — is a classic trick-avoidance card game, and this app is the easiest way to actually learn it, not just download it and get confused.
This is a solo game — you'll always be playing against AI opponents, never other people, so you can learn at your own pace without pressure.
WATCH A HAND
Sit back and watch AI teacher characters play a full hand against each other, with every single move explained in plain language as it happens. See exactly why a card was led, why the others followed the way they did, and why the trick — and its penalty cards — landed where they did. No pressure, no clock — just narrated play you can pause, or fast-forward through with a tap.
PRACTICE MODE
When you're ready, play a real hand yourself against AI teacher-opponents. They explain their own reasoning on every move — whether it's leading a trick, following suit, or ducking a card. After each card you play, you get instant, honest feedback: a "Nice!" when you've made the strong play, an "Also Good" when your card was a genuinely valid alternative, or a friendly Coach Tip explaining what would have worked better and why. No judgement when you only had one legal card to play, either — the app knows the difference between a mistake and a forced move.
PLAY
Once you've got the hang of it, play a normal solo hand against the AI, with an optional on/off hint toggle whenever you want a nudge.

A dedicated reference page walks through which cards to avoid, how hearts and the dreaded penalty card add up against you, and the strategy behind shooting the moon — everything you need before your first real hand.
